Ways to Celebrate The Autumn Equinox

Experience the Balance

Plan to be outside during the time of the Equinox and really pay attention to all that you can feel.

Thanksgiving

Think of ways that you can you take into the world all that you have learnt and experienced, so that others may share in your abundance.

Honour the Darkness

Although we often try and avoid the darkness, it is within the dark that we connect to our power, strength, inner focus, intuition, and dreams. The dark gives us light, and the night gives us day. How can you become more comfortable with the dark?

Tell Stories

Connect to the stories of death and rebirth. The stories of the Goddess Inanna, or of Demeter and Persephone are perfect for this time of year.

Refresh Your Altar

Add the colours of the changing leaves of red, orange and brown to your altar. Ensure that the abundance of all of the Earth’s elements are represented.

Celebrate Your Home

As the nights draw in, you may be spending more time in your home. Cleanse your home, and then bless each room by burning some smudge or incense, and saying a prayer or setting an intention for each room.
Decorate your home with symbols of the harvest.
