Ways to Celebrate Lammas

Community

Bring people together. You could celebrate with a fire and a feast, or even start a community project.

Make a Corn Dolly

Weave or plait a Corn Dolly from a bundle of grasses and flowers. As you create it, give thanks for the grain harvest.
Here’s some instructions on how to make a Corn Dolly (This one is to celebrate Brigid, but the principle is still the same)

Visit a Sacred Place

Spend some time noticing how the changes you can see around you, are also reflected within you.

Gather Some Seeds

Collect some seeds, and place them on your altar. Or save them for planting!

Spend some time connecting with the miracle within the seed. How each tiny seed, carries the blueprint for the plant into which it will become.

Bake Bread

Celebrate the harvest of the grain, by baking some fresh bread, and share it with the people you care about.

Refresh Your Altar

Add in the colours of the season with all shades of green, yellows, gold, and deep orange. You could use candles, or altar cloths in these colours.
You could include some wheat, seeds, corn dolly, and bread.
