Allow yourself to sit in the darkness and notice what thoughts, feelings, fears(?) come to the surface. How do you experience the darkness?
When you have your dinner, set an extra place, and add an offering of some food and drink, as you welcome your ancestors to come and dine with you.
Learn more about family history, from your older relatives. Ask them to share their stories and memories, or the family members who are no longer alive.
Record these stories, in writing, or film, so that you can add to them, and share them as time goes by.
Add the colours of black and brown to your altar. Gather dried grasses or herbs. Include photos of loved ones who have died.
This is the perfect time to connect to your intuition and get some guidance for the next 12 months.
Pick 13 cards from your deck, one card that represents each of the months ahead, and the thirteenth card to offer guidance on a central theme for the whole year.
Light a bonfire. And then on some paper write down all of the things that you are ready to let go of.
Then when you feel ready, toss your paper into the fire, symbolically letting them go.
As you do so, see yourself living and acting in a new healthier relationship with yourself and others, now that you have let these things go.
Review your dairy, planners, journals, notes, photographs, projects completed, and started, over the last 12 months.
Consider how you have grown and changed. What challenges have you faced, and what have you overcome? What have you learnt about yourself?
