SPELLs: Identify Your STORIES

Identifying the STORIES
“How we do one thing is how we do everything”

There is so much truth in this statement, and we’re going to use it to our advantage, as we go for simplicity rather than overwhelm.

I want you to pick one area of your life from your Witches Wheel of Revelation from the POWER Course¬†you’ve just completed, pick an area that has room for improvement.

Choose an area where you’ve scored yourself around 4-6 on the wheel.

Think about that area and what would need to be true in your life for it to be a 10.

  • What resources you would need available to you (time, money etc)?
  • How would your day need to be set up for this new way of life to be true for you?
  • What would you have to start doing?
  • What would you have to stop doing?
  • What would need to change? (health, ,relationships, finances, living location etc)
Fuelling the Stories
Next, you’re going to Identify the STORIES that have you under their ‘SPELL’, so that you can free yourself from their limitations, and move your number closer to 10.

Write down all of the beliefs you have around this area of your life, the good, the supportive, the doubts, and the fears, the challenges, the disbelief in it being possible, the hope…

Be really honest.

Think about how you feel and the thoughts you have about people who already have what you want for you to experience a 10.

Again, be really, brutally honest.

Your Strongest Stories
You’ve identified your own stories, and the stories you’ve been influenced by, it’s now time to choose the stories, the SPELLs, that you’re ready to break free from!

Pick 3-5 of the strongest stories you believe, or that you’ve been immersed in through family, friends and society.

Which stories created the strongest reaction in you, either of recognition, or even repulsion.

A Quick pause…

Before we move on to the next step, I want you to look at your top 3-5 stories and beliefs around this area of your life and ask:

Has this always been true for you?

Do you have any experiences when these beliefs around this area haven’t been true?

Just become curious…

You don’t need to actually answer these questions right now, just allow yourself to consider them as we move onto PERSPECTIVE.

Your Influencers
You’ve identified how you feel about your chosen area of your life. Now it’s time to see how you’re influenced by those around you.

Write down how the following people and groups feel/speak/believe about the area you’re exploring. Not just how they feel about you and this area, but what they feel about this area in their lives or in general:

  • Your Mum, or female caregiver
  • Your Dad, or male caregiver
  • Grandparents
  • Extended family
  • Friends
  • Teachers
  • Community Groups

Then think about how you’ve seen this area portrayed in the following:

  • Newspapers/Magazines
  • Articles
  • TV shows
  • Movies

This could be both positive, affirming and easy, or negative, disempowering and challenging stories that they hold.

Think of the stories they tell, the phrases they use, and their own personal relationship to the area you’re looking at.
