Listen. Because listening’s important:

Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.

Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.

Today you’re being reminded that you know yourself better than anyone else.

You don’t have to believe what other people tell you that you are, or listen to what they say about you.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the opinions of others.

We can give them more weight than they deserve. We can credit their opinions more than our own beliefs and experiences, especially when it comes to who you feel you are as a person.

Has someone told you that you’re too much or not enough?

That they don’t approve of your choices or beliefs?

Be cautious when others give you their opinions of your own character.

You can listen, but you don’t have to accept it as your truth.

It may be their truth, but their truth can only be seen from their own experiences through life.

Stop being so concerned about what others may think of you, and honour who you know yourself to be and who you’re becoming.

You are loveable.

You have so much to offer.

You are more than enough.

You are an essential piece of the rich fabric of life.

You are divine.

Accept all that you are.

Work with your strengths and be aware of, and strengthen, areas that need development.

Acknowledge yourself and all that you are.

Get to know yourself so well that you cannot be swayed by the opinions of others.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you recognise all that you are.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to spend some time acknowledging who you are.

Connect with your strengths.

Feel into your values.

Celebrate your uniqueness.

You’re not here to win a popularity contest, or to appease others, you’re here to express the fullest version of yourself.

Pause, and take a breath. As you feel into your truth.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I honour who I am and who I’m becoming”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy seeing the truth of who you are!

PostScript

It’s easy to be swayed by the opinions of others if you’re not deeply rooted in the truth of who you are.

Knowing who you are and honouring this means respecting your values, your beliefs, your personality, your priorities, your boundaries, your emotions, your habits, your body, and your relationships.

Knowing yourself means really understanding your strengths and weaknesses, what you’re passionate about, your dreams and desires and also your fears.

It means being aware of your quirks and what you like and dislike.

This always reminds me of a scene from the 1999 film Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

Throughout the movie, Ike, who is played by Richard Gere, interviews Maggie’s, who is played by Julia Roberts, former fiancés. These are men that she left at the altar on their wedding day.

One question he asks each of the men during these interviews was how Maggie liked her eggs cooked.

The men would always respond with, “Scrambled, just like me” or “Poached, just like me.” In every situation, Maggie liked her eggs exactly the same way as the men did.

Later in the movie, Ike confronts Maggie and says, “You were so lost, you didn’t even know what kind of eggs you liked! With the priest, you wanted scrambled. With the deadhead, it was fried, with the other guy it was poached…”

Maggie tries to defend herself by saying, “That is called changing your mind.” To which Ike replies, “No, that’s called not having a mind of your own.”

So how do you like your eggs?
