When was the last time that you let your imagination run wild?
That you suspended disbelief and allowed yourself to believe in the seemingly impossible?
The last time that you laughed and played with wild abandon?
When was the last time that you let yourself go completely and lost yourself in the sheer delight of the moment?
To play isn’t childish, it’s child-like.
There’s a lot we can learn from approaching life, challenges and tasks with the innocence, curiosity and wonder of a child.
But there’s also great value in just playing for the fun of it.
Allow yourself to play.
Embrace every opportunity you have to play. To step out of the familiar routines and bring some light-hearted joy, laughter and wonder to your day
In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you remember what it’s like to play.

Today’s SHEro action is to play.
Take some time to do something that you wouldn’t usually do.
Find the wonder and joy in the everyday.
Make up stories, find shapes in the clouds, climb a tree, make a den out of blankets, hop, skip and jump through your day.
Play your favourite games that you loved as a child.
Bring a sense of wonder to your day and lose yourself in the moment.
Pause, and take a breath. As you give yourself permission to play.

Whenever I do quizzes to find out my traditional archetype I always come out as the alchemist, closely followed by the Innocent.
This shows up very clearly in my life.
I love deep.
Deep work, deep feelings, deep conversations.
I love to dive deep into the places within us that most people avoid. I love to transform and find patterns in why things happen; this is the energy of the Alchemist.
However, I also love to play.
I see the possibility in everything, and can more often than not find the good in any situation. I love to keep things light and moving along. This is the energy of my Innocent.
The bonus of these two archetypes for me is that I can do the deep work and still make it light and playful.
Sometimes I can feel my Alchemist wanting to be more serious, this is serious work it should be solemn.
To which my Innocence just laughs and skips on by.
For may years when I meet a new client, I explain to them that when they work with me I will either make them laugh or cry, and often it’s both. But we will make huge shifts, lightly and smiling together.
There is always room for more play, even when life gets deep.
