Listen. Because listening’s important:
Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.
Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.
Today you’re being reminded that stopping is also productive.
It’s important to give yourself time to take a pause, to rest and relax.
Put everything you’re doing to one side.
Put it all down.
Put your feet up.
And just relax.
Focus on your breathing and let your body sink into whatever’s beneath it; a chair, a bed, a couch, the grass…
Allow yourself to be held and supported as you take this moment for yourself.
It’s in these moments that our energy is able to renew itself.
Your mind resets, you exhale fully, you drop your shoulders and release some of the stress you’ve been carrying.
It’s in these moments of pause that you often gain new insights, fresh ideas and new solutions to existing challenges.
Let your mind wander and the answers you seek are more likely to emerge.
Sometimes the most powerful and productive thing you can do is to stop.
In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you give yourself permission to rest.
Today’s SHEro Action:
Today’s SHEro action is to stop, rest and put your feet up.
Stretch out and allow yourself to sink into what whatever surface you’re on.
Focus on your breathing allowing it to become slower and deeper.
Breathing in deeply and exhaling fully.
Let your body become soft and heavy as you fully let go.
Watch the clouds pass by, have a nap, a daydream.
Let yourself rest deeply.
Pause, and take a breath. As you give yourself permission to rest.
“I value my need for rest”
I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,
In the meantime, enjoy slowing down and resting on Your SHEro’s Journey!
There’s no question that we live in a ‘culture of now’.
We want things now and nobody likes to wait; whether that’s for their food, their deliveries or their success.
And often that success is measured more on productivity than on quality of any kind.
And as a result, we can resist rest.
Rest can seem to be unproductive and not getting us anywhere.
Or we tell ourselves that we’re resting when actually we’re distracting ourselves. Distracting ourselves with scrolling though Netflix or social media.
And whilst we might be resting from work, we’re not actually resting in the sense of nourishment and renewal.
We’re not creating the space to feel deeply connected to yourself and the people around you.
And sometimes that’s the very reason we can’t rest, as we’d rather avoid ourselves and the messiness of being human, and we may want to avoid those around us too.
But your body, mind and soul need time to rest, reflect, recharge, recuperate, so that they can restore, create and innovate.
When we rest, we can truly check-in with ourselves, and notice what’s in alignment and what’s not. You get to create a deeper and more meaningful relationship with yourself.
Constantly being on the go, multi-tasking with ever growing to-do lists, really only means that nothing gets our full attention.
So today, give yourself permission to stop.
