Stop Seeking

Listen. Because listening’s important:

Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.

Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.

Today you’re being reminded to stop seeking.

Much of your time and energy can be used seeking and searching for things or answers that you feel are outside of yourself.

What’s your life purpose, what should you be focusing on, what should you be doing as a career, who are you really?

What makes you happy, how should you relax, contribute, show up…

What’s does success mean, should you follow this dream, is this relationship good for you…

The questions and enquiry go on and on and you may look for the answers in a variety of ways.

Books, quizzes, courses, card readings, astrology, numerology, handwriting, Doshas, palms…  the lists go on, these are all valuable signposts that can guide you closer to what your soul already knows, they may give you confidence or affirm your hunches.

But the most valuable thing you can do is to stop seeking and come home to yourself, back to your centre.

To root yourself deep in your own knowing, being and wisdom.

To trust that you have the answers.

You know the answers deep in your blood and bone.

Trust yourself.

When you stop seeking, striving forward and looking outside of yourself, and make the time to be present with yourself, you will naturally connect with the answers and guidance you’ve been in search of.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you sink deep into your own being.

I was the eternal seeker. For years, well in all honesty, for decades, I was desperate to understand my life purpose. What was I here to do?

I thought I was looking for a title or a career path.

I took courses, attended workshops, had hand readings, card readings, numerology charts. Astrological charts, and took every quiz under the sun… I know that with Myers Briggs I’m an ENFP, in Astrology I have an Aquarius Sun, with a Cancer Moon and Libra Rising, in numerology my life path number 3, and my hands are full of gifts – I think at least 8.

And still I searched for someone to tell me what I was here to do, what I should be doing with my life.

Anytime I considered, or was told, that the answers I so desperately wanted were within, I’d roll my eyes and take another quiz.

The truth is seeking, that continuous looking outside of myself, prevented me from going within. From taking responsibility for my own experience.

And guess what, when I stopped seeking…

When I stopped long enough to connect within…

When I was brave enough to listen to my inner truth…

I found exactly was I was looking for.

When I stopped seeking, got still, went within and listened, everything began to unfold.

I learned that I could trust myself and that I didn’t need an external authority telling me what I should be doing.

I had known all along. (Although that knowing had been hidden)

As the Good Witch said to Dorothy: ‘You had the power all along my dear’. In my case, and your case, that power is the power of trusting myself, which gave me the power of knowing.

You may roll your eyes, just as I did, but give yourself a chance. I believe in you and your power.
