Listen. Because listening’s important:
Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.
Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.
Today you’re being asked to remember how you are intimately connected to the world around you.
Nature is awe inspiring.
Her majesty, beauty, power and rage. She’s both amazing and humbling in equal measure.
Yet, how often do you remember that you are part of nature.
We can often, mistakenly, believe that we’re separate from it, but everything that makes up nature is within you too.
Her rhythms, her cycles, her elements.
Her power, her beauty, her abundance, her perfection.
Take a deep breath in, and feel the air fill your lungs, this is the same air that creates the world around you.
Squeeze your thighs with your hands, feel their strength and solidity, this is the same strength of the earth.
Lick your lips and feel the water of your own body and know that this is the same element of water that makes up the rivers, lakes and oceans of the world.
Rub your hands together and feel the heat you can generate with your own body. This is the same element of fire that you see in nature, tapping into the energy of destruction, but also creation.
The power of nature is within your own body.
You are made of the same elements and held together with the same magic that weaves around the world turning the acorn into the mighty oak, the rain drop into the ocean, and the grain of sand into the vast desert.
Right now, just take a moment to stop, pause and take a breath, as you connect to the natural power that resides within you.
Today’s SHEro Action:
Today’s SHEro action is to pick one of the elements of Earth, Air, Fire or Water, and notice how it shows up in nature.
Then think about how that same element shows up in your life too.
For example, how do you relate to the element of water, do you enjoy being in and around water, are you confident around it. How does it make you feel?
The element of water also relates to your emotions, how do you feel about expressing your emotions. Are you confident expressing them, do you enjoy feeling them, or do you suppress them and find them a nuisance?
If you choose fire, are you comforted by heat, or afraid of its potentially destructive force?
Fire is often associated with hot emotions such as anger. How do you feel about these emotions, do you see them as sacred and an agent for change, or do you feel uncomfortable with your own, and other people’s, anger, fearing its destructive properties?
If you work with air, do you enjoy the wind, or being up high in the mountains?
The air within you is often associated with thinking and intellect, do you value intellect, do you like to rationalise or make logical sense of things, or does too much time in your head make you feel ungrounded?
If you choose earth, consider your relationship to the land, do you enjoy being out in nature, do you enjoy having your hands and feet in the soil?
Earth relates to your physical body, consider your own relationship with your body, is it a healthy and joyous one, or is it one you feel you’re battling with, trying to control or have difficulty accepting?
Pause, and take a breath. Let yourself feel the rhythms of nature within your own body.
Today’s Affirmation:
“I am a powerful force of nature”
I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,
In the meantime, enjoy feeling connected!
PostScript
Growing up in a small fishing town I was constantly aware of nature.
The tides rising and falling each day.
Knowing the tides let me know if there would be enough water in the river to catch the short ferry trip to see friends, or if I would need to take the longer walk up and through town so I could cross at the bridge and walk back down.
At least twice a year my hometown is at the mercy of nature, high tides, full moons, and high winds creating the perfection conditions to flood the town, submerging the high street and flooding the shops and many houses.
Being on the coast meant often you took the brunt of the storms with the waves of the seas crashing against the cliffs, often leading to large portions of cliff face collapsing into the sea.
More than one house has been lost to the sea.
The weather changing quickly.
Mists rolling in with the drone of the foghorn keeping the fishermen safe and away from the rocks.
With this uncontrollable power comes breath taking beauty.
In the calm of summer, comes the bustle of tourists coming to enjoy the beaches and the beautiful scenery.
Tourists often being burnt by the power of the sun, as the cool sea breeze deceives them into thinking it’s not as hot as it actually is.
With all this power, change and unpredictability, it’s no wonder this is the home of myths and legends, of King Arthur and pirates, of magical creatures such as mermaids and piskies.
This power of nature, the power to destroy and create, the power to take your breath away with it’s wildly unapologetic magnificence, is the very power you have within you too, it’s time you honoured it.
