On today’s episode of the Pinch of Magick podcast I’m joined by Gina Martin, a ritualist, teacher and healer, where we discuss the power of stories to heal not only ourselves, but the land we live on.

If you’ve ever felt a connection to the land, or wanted to deepen your connection to the land, this episode is for you.

Gina offers rich insight into our relationship to stories, land and spirituality and how these things shape our world view.

She shares her experience of creating a better relationship with the land we live on and does so through the beauty of story.

Join us for a heartfelt conversation about the things we often take most for granted – the land upon which we live.

In this episode we discuss:

  • The importance of the connection between stories and the land
  • Stories as mediumship for healing on a planetary level
  • Why so many people are looking for a place to call home, a place where they can feel a sense of  groundedness and rootedness
  • The need people have to claim ownership of specific site
  • People identifying with their claimed stories from the land they live on, or from the ‘mythical’ land of their ancestors
  • How we fool ourselves with our stories
  • The consequences of the rematriation of the land
  • Stewarding of the land and the importance of knowing the land you live in
  • Living in harmony with the land
  • How to let the land nourish you and how to nourish the land in return
  • How the language we use informs how we view the world
  • Spirituality and its connection with the land
  • Changing the stories and unplugging from the family stories of ‘joint misery’
  • If the actions you’re taking aren’t life affirming, don’t bother
  • The collective soil, what is the soil you live in?
  • How are you contributing to the soil around you?
  • Connecting with the folklore of the land we live in, even when there’s no books
  • Listening to the land
  • The way we do things often derives from necessity, not what is true or optimal for today
