On today’s episode of the A Pinch of Magick podcast I’m joined by Emma Griffin, of Sacred Space Cornwall as we talk about her path to claiming her spiritual gifts and living ‘in public’ as a witch.

Emma’s story is a powerful reminder to not wait for a wake-up call to start doing what’s really important to you.

She takes us through her journey from fashion designer, interior decorator, celebrity photographer to intuitive channel and magickal mentor. Whilst having two children, and three cancer diagnosis’s within 10 years…

Emma’s childhood may have been different from most, in the fact that she grew up in a house immersed in magick – her mum was a witch and her dad was a psychic medium, but it didn’t mean that it was quicker for her to claim her own space as a witch.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Emma’s background in art, fashion design, and photography and how this has influenced her craft
  • What it was like growing up in a magickal household
  • The importance of fostering relationships with spirits and keeping yourself safe
  • The difference between intuition and fear in spiritual growth
  • The transition to spiritual healing and mentoring after personal loss
  • The power of intuition and the importance of trusting yourself
  • Connecting with children’s natural abilities to see spirits
  • Her intimate relationship with death
  • What she remembers from her near death experience
  • Holding space for others and maintaining your own energy and energetic health
  • The importance of ritual, sisterhood and sacred space
  • How Emma connects with spirits and passes on their messages (she even has one for me! One I’m still not ready to hear…)

In a world where people often feel disconnected from themselves and their spiritual side, Emma’s journey reminds us of the importance of trusting our intuition and embracing our true selves.

Whether you’re a witch who is ‘in’ or ‘out’ of the broom cupboard, or simply someone looking for inspiration, listening to Emma’s story will inspire you to dig deep, trust your instincts, and find your own path.

Tune in and let Emma’s experiences help you unlock the power of your own inner witch.

Today on the A Pinch of Magick podcast I’m joined by Louisa Darling founder of Barefoot Festival and the Witch Festival in Leicester

As we talk about the importance of having a space to explore and return home to yourself,no matter your age.

In this episode we dig deep into using the experiences you’ve had as a way to discover your own magick. Whilst remembering that there is no set path or strict rules you need to follow to get permission to claim and use your power and magick.

Perhaps you’ve been curious about how to step into more of your power and magick. But as you’ve explored this possibility, you’ve felt that you don’t belong or haven’t been welcome in certain groups or situations.

It’s painful for sure.

Well, on today’s episode Louisa shares her experience of finding the perfect community and her experience of embodying her own power and magick, especially as she gets older.

I hope that today’s episode inspires you to embrace where you are and look forward to what’s to come!

In this episode Louisa shares:

  • How her journey to creating magickal gatherings began with belly dancing
  • The dissonance she experienced between enjoying belly dancing and watching the bombing of the Gaza Strip
  • How this led her to explore earth dancing from her own lineage
  • How her training, teaching and experience of Kundalini Yoga mirrored her experience of magick
  • The importance of private practice and the importance of coming together with others
  • How she found some moots to be cliquey, so she decided to create her own gatherings
  • What it means to be a ‘real’ witch
  • The reluctance she had to claim the title of ‘witch’
  • The importance of healing the ‘witch wound’, so women feel brave about speaking out
  • The importance of reclaiming the power that mid-life brings with it
  • How it can seem easy to dismiss the activism of mid-life women, but that’s when they have more power
  • How when we deny our power and repress past events, our bodies can store that information and how it manifests in daily life
  • How we can be quick to throw away and reject what appears to be ‘rubbish’, when that’s where the gold can be.
  • The importance of remembering that you’re not alone on this path.

Today on the A Pinch of Magick podcast I’m joined by author and tarot deck creator Alice Grist.

This episode is for you if you’ve ever been curious about the tarot and want to know how to explore, or work deeper with the tarot – even if you’ve been a little hesitant to start.

Unfortunately it’s true, that even today there can still be a fear around the tarot. Especially with many films or TV shows adding to this, as they only show tarot in a light that suggests imminent danger or death. With characters starting to die or face peril after seeing the Death or Tower cards.

Alice wants to break these ideas and show people how tarot is actually a potent tool for personal transformation, and nothing to be feared.

Alice shares how she first became involved in tarot when her dad, who had been a Vicar, left the church and returned to the things he was once curious about – this included the tarot.

In this episode we discuss:

  • How Alice’s personal journey with the tarot evolved
  • The common misconceptions of the tarot
  • Misogyny and racism around the tarot
  • Why people (and society) fear the tarot
  • How tarot has put women in places of spiritual power and leadership, whilst many traditional institution still denied women these places
  • Alice’s experience of living each card
  • Using the tarot to connect with your intuition and learn to trust yourself
  • Tarot as a tool for personal empowerment
  • Signs and symbolism all around us
  • Using oracle cards with the tarot
  • Alice also shares her favourite and most used decks, as well has handy tips on how to find the perfect deck for you

About Alice

Author, tarot deck creator and expert. Alice has been working with tarot for thirty years and most recently co-created the new international deck Rebel Heart Tarot. Alice reads and teaches tarot internationally.

Today on the A Pinch of Magick podcast I start by sharing how incredibly witchy Valentine’s day is with its kitchen witchery, love spells and enchantments and then show you how to use this collective energy to weave potent magick for yourself.

If you love valentine’s day or hate it, I hope this episode will inspire you to weave more of your own magick into the day so that you can enjoy its inherent magick.

This isn’t an episode about romantic relationships or finding your soulmate. It’s an episode about your relationship with yourself, becoming your own soulmate and how in doing so, how you can let more love in.

I want to inspire you to take some time to really be with yourself, to start to silence the inner critic and give yourself permission to truly remember how fabulous and magickal you are!

I want you to start to feel more love in your everyday life – and yes, it starts with you.

In this episode I share:

  • The different ways people are weaving magick on this day, and most don’t even realise it
  • How to intentionally use the collective energy of the day to cultivate more love in your life
  • A reminder to do things your way and step out of the commercial and societal judgements and expectations of love
  • A ritual to clear away self-doubt and bring in more self-love
  • A spell to really remember your own power, magick and wonderfulness
  • I share how you could do the spell with loved one and/or friends for some extra potency
I’d love to hear which you’re going to try and how you got on with it.
