Remember Your truth

Remember Your truth

Listen. Because listening’s important:

Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.

Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.

Today you’re being asked to remember the truth of who you are.

Who were you before the world told you who you should be?

Before it moulded you into who it wanted you to be?

It’s time to return to your natural state of being.

The one where you feel whole, fully alive and aligned with your heart and soul.

The you who is weighed down, possibly hiding, under a lifetime of other people’s expectations, should’s and judgements.

The you who comes first if you weren’t prioritising the needs of others over your own.

Can you feel her within you, perhaps you catch a glimmer, or remember a time when you felt full of your own radiance and didn’t hold back?

Are you ready to remember, reawaken and reclaim more of her, all of her?

How would your life be different if you created your life whilst fully embodying your truth?

You are ready!

It’s your time.

I’d love to meet her.

Let’s go!

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as remember the truth of who you are.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to think back to the things that brought you joy as a child.

How did you love to express yourself, what activities could you lose yourself in for hours?

These are the clues of the things that really bring you alive, the things that are important to you. These clues bring you closer to remembering your truth.

Are they still present in your life today, if not, how can you bring more of them back?

Watch a small child who is confident that they are safe and loved. They have no reservations in showing up fully and expressing themselves and their truth and of course their full range of emotions – often at the top of their lungs.

How can you be more like them in this way; Taking up space and airwaves with what’s important to you?

Pause, and take a breath. As you focus on what makes you feel alive.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I remember my truth”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy embodying your truth as you walk Your SHEro’s Journey!

I wish you the confidence of my little boy.

He’s only 5, and has recently been really getting into swimming.

It was only a few months ago that he didn’t even want to venture into the deep end of the pool, now he loves diving in.

A few weeks ago he was in a different class.

There was just three of them in the group, and he was clearly the weakest swimmer of the group. Well it was clear to me.

He was doing great, but the others were just stronger swimmers than him.

When they swam the first length, I heard the teacher ask the group how the swim was.

My little guy beamed that

‘It was great!’

And when the teacher asked who wanted to go first on the next length, he shot his hand up and enthusiastically announced he would love to go first.

He was loving it.

He was slower than the other children, his technique wasn’t as good, and he just didn’t care.

He wasn’t comparing himself to anyone else, he was just having a great time learning a new skill.

He knew what he was doing and knew that he was improving, and I’d love to say that he was just staying in his own lane, but he was swimming not really in a straight line at all.

But he showed up and kept trying and doesn’t know or care that he’s not currently as good as people, he’s just having a blast and being true to himself.

And like I said, I wish that confidence and happiness for us all, and I hope he keeps it for as long as he can.

You Are Not Broken

You Are Not Broken

Today you’re being reminded that you are not broken.

The world around you may have tried to convince you that you are aren’t enough, that in some way you’re lacking, or that you’re broken.

This is just not true.

You are more than enough.

You are whole.

You are an incredible human being who deserves to be given the chance to shine in all of your brilliance.

Your truth and potential are always present within you.

Waiting for you to remember and reclaim them.

It’s time to dismantle the limitations that you’ve learnt, created or had imposed upon you, so that you can stand tall in your radiance and shine from within.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as feel into your inner radiance.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to think about one area of your life, or your being, where you think that in some way you lack or need ‘fixing’.

Now think about that aspect and ask yourself where did that belief come from, is it even yours?

Can you identify any ways in which you actually work well in that area? For example, if you don’t think you fit into society’s standard of what your physical body should look like, can you list 10 ways in which your body works really well, or maybe excels?

Maybe you’re carrying some extra weight, but can you still go for walks, swim, or dance to your favourite song. Can you hold hands with a loved one, give and receive hugs, tell someone you love them?

Although an area of your life may feel like it needs fixing, spend today thinking of all the ways in which that part of your life also works too.

Pause, and take a breath. As you focus on your wholeness.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I am whole, I am healthy, I am me”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy being you as you walk Your SHEro’s Journey!

Many of my clients come to me because they want to ‘fix’ something.

They feel that there’s something wrong in their life that needs changing or fixing and then everything will be great.

It’s hardly surprising that people think they need to fix something when every advert that surrounds us is designed to sell us something to make our life better, easier, richer, more glamorous, more adventurous, more fulfilling, more of whatever they are selling that day. Suggesting that ourselves and our lives aren’t already enough.

The adverts are designed to raise expectations and embed a standard that is mostly not even realistic.

Whether it’s body shape, relationships, parenting, the food you eat, in reality every part of your life is touched by advertising, expectations and judgement.

But what if you stopped looking outside of yourself for validation, or what you should be doing, eating, wearing etc and just did what truly lit you up.

Your choices might well align with the advertising and expectations, but you are consciously choosing it, rather than choosing it from a place of lack.

You are the only person remotely qualified to be you.

It’s time to stop trying to fix or change who you are.

It’s time to give up any conflict you have with yourself, so that you can fully embrace you.

Stop beating yourself up and accept yourself, all of yourself. You don’t need something else to prove your worth, you don’t need someone else to say it for it to be true.

You are limitless potential, don’t forget that.

Get Comfortable with Discomfort

Get Comfortable with Discomfort

Today you’re being reminded of the importance of getting comfortable with discomfort.

Many people get stuck at The Call stage of the SHEro’s Journey.

The energy of The Call is light, fun and full of limitless possibilities.

Yet, as soon as you decided to take action, it can stop being so joyful as the reality of making choices become apparent. Maybe you have to let people down, perhaps you change even though those around you want you to stay the same.

The reality of committing to your dreams and doing things differently sets in.

All change brings growth and growth can be uncomfortable, even painful.

This discomfort means that you are growing, you’re moving forward.

What if you could see this discomfort as something that is just part of the process and not something to be resisted or avoided.

Much like having a great workout at the gym, attending a yoga class, or going for a strenuous hike, you may feel a bit stiff the next day, but you know that this discomfort is worth it in the long run as you’ll feel much fitter and stronger for it.

And just like pushing your physical body, the more you push your own growth, the easier it becomes. The more resilient you become and the bolder you become.

Your confidence soars as you trust in your own ability to navigate and overcome any obstacles you face.

Lean into the discomfort, get the support you need, and get comfortable with your own growth.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as feel into the possibility of discomfort.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to think about an action that you’ve been putting off because it feels too uncomfortable.

Now think about how much of your time and energy it will free up to get it done. Just not thinking about it anymore will make you feel so much better.

Do you need some additional help, resources, or knowledge to be able to do this? If so, make a plan; reach out to those who can help, and take action.

Pause, and take a breath. As you choose to move forward and grow.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I choose growth over comfort”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy the growth that comes from discomfort!

PostScript

One of the ways that really helps me lean into the discomfort and do the things that I’d rather put off again, or that I have put off again and again and again, it helps me to think in terms of years, not days.

I like to think about the long-term affect of what I’m doing, and the why behind doing it.

It’s easy to avoid the discomfort if we focus on putting off what we need to do because of the immediate feelings we think we’ll experience or the resistance to the action that we feel in this moment.

But if we think about the long-term, we not only know that this discomfort will no longer be there, we know that this discomfort has actually helped towards us attaining our desires and is often necessary to help us get there.

So, when you need to have that conversation, or take that action, focus on the future that it’s helping you to create, rather than the intensity, and possible discomfort, of the next few minutes or hours.

Take a Stand

Take a Stand

Today you’re being reminded to take a stand for yourself.

Take a stand for your beliefs, your values and those things that are important to you.

Take a stand for your energy and your feelings.

Take a stand even if those around you don’t understand you or share your beliefs.

You matter.

Your thoughts, feelings, and ideas matter.

As you stand in your truth and share from that space, others around you may be uncomfortable, but those are their feelings and you are not responsible for them.

Do what you need to do to honour the truth of who you are.

Of course, be considerate of others and circumstances, but ultimately you are here to live your life for you, and not for the comfort of others.

Don’t allow what appears to be the easier path to be the value that you lead with.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you recognise how much you matter.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to consider where you may have been prioritising other people’s comfort over your own values.

Have you been choosing ease over what you truly want to do or say, or have you been holding yourself back in the ways in which you express yourself?

How can you take a stand for yourself today?

What can you do that honours who you are, your values, feelings, and energy?

How can you express yourself fully just for you?

Pause, and take a breath. As you feel yourself root deeply into your truth.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I say ‘Yes’ to myself”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy walking your SHEro’s Journey your own way!

Have you ever found yourself using language that undermines your knowledge and power, phrases such as ‘Correct me if I’m wrong…’, or referring to yourself as ‘lucky’ when something goes well for you or maybe even apologising before you share an opinion that may disagree with someone else’s idea.

These phrases are often used to make other people feel comfortable, but in doing so, it downplays your knowledge, your experiences, your authority, and actually how hard you’ve worked towards something.

Start to pay attention to how you may use language that disempowers you or diminishes how you show up.

If you find yourself saying: ‘I’m not very good at that…’, change it to ‘I am learning how to do that’, or ‘I’m not good at that…’. Become ‘I’ve yet to learn how to do that’.

Changing the language you use, is completely within your control, and just reframing how you use your words, allows you to affirm and take a stand for who you are and what you’re capable of.

Your words really do shape your experience of life, and the conversations you have with others create your relationships.

So, take a stand for yourself and what you believe in, own your value and speak your truth, as you bring your full greatness to your experience of life, your life and the world around you will be richer for it.

Let Go of the Familiar

Let Go of the Familiar

Today you’re being reminded to let go of the familiar.

Take that risk.

Commit to your dreams and goals.

Let go of everything you know and go all in.

This isn’t a time to try and control events in your life, or to try and control the outcome.

You don’t have to do it alone, but you do have to decide to commit to yourself as you align with your values and your desired feelings and move towards your dreams.

It isn’t always easy to let go of all that you know.

Even if it’s not what you need or what fills your heart anymore, there is comfort in the familiar.

Take a risk and step into alignment with your dreams and desires.

Choose yourself.

This isn’t about pushing or forcing, but allowing things to unfold.

Allowing yourself to step forward even when you don’t have all the answers.

Allowing yourself to say ‘yes’, without needing to control the ‘how’.

This is a time to believe in yourself.

A time to commit and then trust in yourself and something bigger than you.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you let go of the way things have always been done.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to take a risk and let go of something that no longer serves you.

Be bold and make that decision that you’ve been putting off for days, weeks, months or possibly years.

Gather your courage and take action.

Trust your intuition, trust that small voice that tells you you’re meant for more.

Align with the flow of your heart and then let go and enjoy the adventure.

Pause, and take a breath. As you give yourself permission to trust yourself.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I take inspired action”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy committing to yourself!

PostScript

I’d love to tell you that I find letting go really easy.

I’d love to tell you that I never try and hold on to things I’ve outgrown just because they’re familiar.

But I can’t, and even if I did tell you that I doubt you’d believe me.

But what I can tell you and that I know to be true, is that when I do let go, even after kicking and screaming, magical things happen, things that surpass even my wildest dreams.

A few years ago, I wrote an article titled: Why I burnt my vision board’, and it spoke to the reason we need to let go more often, in it I wrote:

“When you create a vision board you are telling the universe what you want, you are placing your order. But you can only order from the limited selection that you are aware of.

What if there was something better, something you weren’t even aware of.”

And that’s why I encourage you to let go of the familiar, as whilst you’re fighting to try and keep everything the same, or at least under your control, you miss the other opportunities that are waiting for you, and who knows they could be much more magical and fun than you ever thought possible!

Become Still

Become Still

Today you’re being encouraged to become still.

No matter what’s going on around you, in your environment, in your mind, or in your relationships, find some time to be still.

Physically become still and let your thoughts pass through like clouds; notice your thoughts but don’t become attached to them, just watch them drift slowly on by.

As your body and mind relax, notice the noise within, the noise that you may not have even realised was so loud, and notice how that begins to calm too, and as it does pay attention to the quieter, more subtle voices that are trying to get your attention.

What messages do they have for you?

What are they nudging you towards or away from?

Sometimes it’s easier to get busy, rather than spend time with ourselves.

Silence can also feel uncomfortable as we have become accustomed to the constant noise and distractions of the society that we live in.

If stillness does make you uncomfortable, why is that, do you not trust yourself, are you resistant to listening to the intuitive nudges that you’ve been pretending not to hear, or do you feel uncomfortable with being intimate with yourself in this way?

Becoming still allows you to feel deeply connected with yourself, and the world around you. It helps you to remember the truth of who you are.

Within the stillness you start to remember who you are, which is essential as we’re surrounded by a noisy world that tells you how it wants you to be.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you sink into stillness.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is spend some time with yourself in stillness.

Find somewhere where you can get comfortable and that is as quiet as it can be.

And then just lay down or sit down, with just yourself.

No music, no phones, no background distractions.

Notice how you feel.

Is this peaceful and nourishing for you, or do you feel guilty for doing nothing?

Enjoy this stillness for as long as you can – even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Focus on your breath, rhythmically breathing in and out, in and out.

With each breath relaxing a little more and connecting a little deeper with yourself.

Pause, and take a breath. As you become increasingly comfortable with stillness.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I give myself the space to be still and connect deeply”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy the stillness!

PostScript

Being busy, how does it serve you?

For some it’s a badge of honour, others it’s almost an addiction, some have a fear of missing out and others can be trying to prove their worth.

What’s behind your busyness?

For me, being busy was a way to hide from decisions I didn’t want to make.

Because how could I possibly, make huge life choices when I was too busy to have the time to actually acknowledge what I wanted and needed, let alone plan and have the conversations I needed to have or take the actions I needed to take.

It was really brought home to me one day in one of my first jobs.

I was amazing at running a team that was in crisis.

If there was an emergency, I was your woman.

Short of staff, emergency cases, no-notice inspections, no worries… I had it covered.

No drama too big, I took it all in my stride.

And whilst that’s great to be able to do that, you certainly need people that can, my boss at the time pointed out that I thrived in that environment, because it meant I didn’t have to focus so much on the everyday mundane tasks.

Wow – that hit home, so true.

I thought the value was in managing the crisis. But in reality, we need to spend more time managing the day to day mundane stuff.

And that means sitting with ourselves, knowing what we really do want in the mundane day to day of life.

In reality, the huge changes don’t come about that often, or at least that regularly in most of our lives, but it’s the day to day, moment to moment choices and changes that we manage that has the biggest impacts on our lives.

And you become skilled in making the day to day choices, in the stillness, the apparent mundane, because when we can make our choices from here, we make them from a place of inner power, a place of conscious choice, rather than from the noise and overwhelm or expectation and obligation.
