Embrace Change

Embrace Change

Listen. Because listening’s important:

Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.

Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.

Today you’re being reminded to embrace change.

Everything in life is constantly changing and that’s how it’s supposed to be.

When things appear to come to an end, they’ve actually been transformed.

You can choose to take the lessons learned and the experiences gained with you, and you use the new-found wisdom as a stronger foundation for your next beginning.

With every change you allow, you’re growing and becoming stronger, getting to know what you are capable of, and believing in yourself more and more.

The challenges you overcome, the changes you embrace, the transformations you go through, allow you to own more of your inner-power and align your life with your truth, bringing more fulfilment and purpose and meaning to your life.

When you try and prevent change, you’re actually working against nature itself, and in the long run I wouldn’t fancy anyone’s chances against her as we know how powerful she is.

You must allow things to end as much as you must embrace new beginnings.

Although change and transformation may initially feel uncomfortable, trying to resist change will prove exhausting.

Accept that change happens and you will inevitably feel better.

Let go of what no longer serves you and celebrate the new beginnings.

A stronger, more aligned and resilient you awaits.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you allow the transformation to occur.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to notice what is ready to be let go of.

What have you outgrown, or what’s come to its natural end?

Perhaps you’re fed up with a situation in your life, or know intuitively it’s time to move on.

Honour what you are about to let go of, and celebrate the new that you’re welcoming in.

Pause, and take a breath. As you acknowledge the need for change.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I honour the need for change”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy embracing change!

I love change. I’m grateful that for the most part we left the shoulder pads and huuuuuuuge hair back in the 80’s, I don’t have time for that much hairspray and styling lol

Being able to adapt is an essential skill, not necessarily for your fashion, but our ability to adapt to change in our environment and technical advancements is becoming increasingly important for the world that we live in.

But change, even if we know it’s what we need, can be difficult for people.

There’s no doubt that some people avoid change because they can’t be bothered to learn something new.

For others because they don’t like the lack of control or the uncertainty of what the outcome of the change may be.

If you find yourself feeling anxious about change, try flipping the negative ‘what if…’ to one of wonder.

Instead of focusing on ‘What if it all goes wrong’, to one of ‘I wonder how this will make things better?’

Become curious: What if it turned out great instead of terrible?

Often the biggest obstacle to change is ourselves.

Change is always happening, it’s essential, but what if you learned to embrace it, to lean in to it rather than run away?

How would your life be better is you embraced the changes instead of fighting against them?

Somethings we get to chose to change, and others we have no say about.

Whatever change comes your way, remember that you might not choose the change, but you can choose if you react or respond to the situation.

Know Yourself

Know Yourself

Today you’re being reminded that you know yourself better than anyone else.

You don’t have to believe what other people tell you that you are, or listen to what they say about you.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the opinions of others.

We can give them more weight than they deserve. We can credit their opinions more than our own beliefs and experiences, especially when it comes to who you feel you are as a person.

Has someone told you that you’re too much or not enough?

That they don’t approve of your choices or beliefs?

Be cautious when others give you their opinions of your own character.

You can listen, but you don’t have to accept it as your truth.

It may be their truth, but their truth can only be seen from their own experiences through life.

Stop being so concerned about what others may think of you, and honour who you know yourself to be and who you’re becoming.

You are loveable.

You have so much to offer.

You are more than enough.

You are an essential piece of the rich fabric of life.

You are divine.

Accept all that you are.

Work with your strengths and be aware of, and strengthen, areas that need development.

Acknowledge yourself and all that you are.

Get to know yourself so well that you cannot be swayed by the opinions of others.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you recognise all that you are.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to spend some time acknowledging who you are.

Connect with your strengths.

Feel into your values.

Celebrate your uniqueness.

You’re not here to win a popularity contest, or to appease others, you’re here to express the fullest version of yourself.

Pause, and take a breath. As you feel into your truth.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I honour who I am and who I’m becoming”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy seeing the truth of who you are!

It’s easy to be swayed by the opinions of others if you’re not deeply rooted in the truth of who you are.

Knowing who you are and honouring this means respecting your values, your beliefs, your personality, your priorities, your boundaries, your emotions, your habits, your body, and your relationships.

Knowing yourself means really understanding your strengths and weaknesses, what you’re passionate about, your dreams and desires and also your fears.

It means being aware of your quirks and what you like and dislike.

This always reminds me of a scene from the 1999 film Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

Throughout the movie, Ike, who is played by Richard Gere, interviews Maggie’s, who is played by Julia Roberts, former fiancés. These are men that she left at the altar on their wedding day.

One question he asks each of the men during these interviews was how Maggie liked her eggs cooked.

The men would always respond with, “Scrambled, just like me” or “Poached, just like me.” In every situation, Maggie liked her eggs exactly the same way as the men did.

Later in the movie, Ike confronts Maggie and says, “You were so lost, you didn’t even know what kind of eggs you liked! With the priest, you wanted scrambled. With the deadhead, it was fried, with the other guy it was poached…”

Maggie tries to defend herself by saying, “That is called changing your mind.” To which Ike replies, “No, that’s called not having a mind of your own.”

So how do you like your eggs?

Prioritise You

Prioritise You

Today you’re being reminded that it’s not only okay to put yourself first, but in many cases it’s essential.

Let go of expectations and what you think you should or shouldn’t be doing, and listen to what you really want, need and desire.

Speak up for yourself.

Prioritise yourself.

Take action on your own behalf.

Be kind, loving, gentle and generous towards yourself.

Treat yourself as if you were the most special and valued person that you know, because in reality that’s exactly who you are.

When you focus on nourishing and nurturing yourself first, it’s true that you’ll have more resources for others, but put yourself first for yourself.

Put yourself first for your own peace of mind and well-being, and then it’s a bonus when you can show up more fully for everyone else too.

First and foremost, put yourself first for you.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you allow yourself enjoy the idea of putting yourself first.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to put yourself first.

Ask for what you want and need.

Put a stop to those things that aren’t aligned with you.

Remove the word ‘should’ from your vocabulary and do exactly what you want so that you feel loved and nourished by yourself.

Take yourself out for your most perfect date, treat yourself with deep love, care and respect.

Enjoy loving yourself and saying yes to yourself.

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to be filled with your own love.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I love myself and honour my needs”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy nourishing yourself!

It’s easy to get caught up in the lives of your friends and family, especially if you have children or elderly parents, so much so that you can lose sight of your own needs and desires in life.

When my son was born he swept in and took over my world, as he rightly had to do, if you’ve ever been around babies they’re, as I loving say, useless, they can’t do anything by themselves, they can’t even turn over.

As he got older, I had to consciously remind myself that he didn’t need me as much, and that I needed time for me and that was okay.

Taking time for yourself isn’t neglecting other people, it just means that you’re recognising yourself as important too.

It reminds you that you don’t have to constantly sacrifice yourself or prioritise they needs of others over your own needs.

One question that I found helpful to ask myself, each time I resisted prioritising myself was:

Why am I making this choice?

Why am I prioritising someone else’s needs and desires over my own?

Is it because it was the right thing to do at that time, or was it because I was trying to gain their acceptance/love/friendship… insert any of the other reasons we may have.

I had to learn to step back, prioritise what was important to me, and sometimes that meant re-evaluating how I had been making my choices.

Speak Your Truth

Speak Your Truth

Today you’re being reminded to speak your truth.

Give yourself permission to say what’s in your heart.

Stand tall and take up space with your voice as you share what matters to you.

Your words have power.

Use them to uplift and inspire yourself and others.

There’s magic and connection created when you share your truth.

Say what needs to be said.

Speak from your heart.

Allow others to clearly hear what’s important to you as you share your hopes, dreams and desires.

Take a stand for yourself and what you believe in.

Ask for what you need.

Don’t hold yourself back, silence yourself or think your words don’t have value.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you connect with what needs to be said.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to acknowledge what you need to say.

Maybe there are unsaid words that you need to say to someone.

Perhaps you haven’t been asking for what you need, or you’ve been withholding your vision of the future.

It’s time to speak your words of truth and communicate clearly.

Share your feelings and express your hopes and dreams.

Pause, and take a breath. As you speak from your heart.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I confidently speak from my heart”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy speaking your truth!

PostScript

If as a small child, you didn’t have an environment where it was safe to express yourself fully, the chances are that now as an adult this pattern continues, and you still feel unsafe to express yourself and voice fully.

You can continue to silence yourself in order to get approval, fit in or at least not stand out.

You silence yourself as a way to get love, because using your voice may have led to a withholding of love in your past.

Your voice is your power, when you don’t use it, you have given your power away to someone or something else.

When you silence your voice, withhold your voice or tame your voice, you are doing the same thing to your own inner-power.

People that aren’t fully speaking their truth can be more prone to:

Be the people pleaser

Be fearful of conflict, so don’t speak up

Devalue their own ideas and follow other people’s suggestions

Apologise more than is necessary

Be unduly influenced by their own inner critic

Instead of silencing yourself, start to remember your own power. Focus on strengthening your courage and speak up.

Each time you speak from your heart, you reclaim your right to be heard, you reclaim that you and your thoughts matter, each time you speak up you show yourself that you love yourself a little bit more.

Shine Brighter

Shine Brighter

Today you’re being reminded to reconnect with and reawaken your inner radiance.

That part of you that shines the brightest.

That part of yourself that revels in the truth of who you are, that celebrates all that you are, all that’ve you’ve achieved, and all that is to come.

That part of you that brings joy just through being.

No expectations, no pressure, just truth.

Women are often told that they are too much; too emotional, too needy, too strong, too masculine, to feminine, to loud, too quiet, too thin, too fat, too smart, too intimidating, too anything really…

When a woman shows up fully and shines in her power it can make other people feel uncomfortable and they can try and shut her down.

No matter what your experience, perhaps you’ve experienced being called or made to feel ‘too much’, maybe you’ve had people try and shut you down, just remember your inner light cannot be put out, it can only be hidden.

It’s time to take up space.

Take up space with your presence, your voice, your words, your ideas, and your dreams.

Take up space as you radiate your truth and joy into the world.

Make the world brighter by shining your inner light and celebrating the other people that do the same.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you reconnect with your inner radiance.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to give yourself permission to shine your radiance.

Even if you feel down, disheartened or fed-up, take a moment to reconnect with the radiance that’s within you.

It may be hiding.

Initially it may only feel like a flicker.

But keep reconnecting with it until it’s roaring and radiant.

Own your radiance.

Allow yourself to shine and be seen in the world.

Remember your radiance and enjoy playing in it.

Pause, and take a breath. As you let your inner radiance shine.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I give myself permission to shine!”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy shining brighter!

For years I hid shining my own inner radiance behind the pretence of lack of clarity.

I didn’t realise it was a pretence at the time, I genuinely thought I wasn’t clear on what I needed to do.

But in truth I was too scared to commit to what it was I wanted to do.

So instead of taking action, I’d think and plan, and then think and plan some more, and then think and re-write the plan.

Then when I was sure, I’d start to doubt myself.

Then once I was over the doubt again…. I’d be sure again, but then get caught up in the ‘how’.

How would I make this work? How was I sure that it would work? How was I sure that this was the right thing to do?

But I now realise, that isn’t how showing up works.

It’s not about the ‘how’.

I didn’t need clarity, it was my excuse from doing what I needed to do.

I just needed to commit and take the first step.

Time and time again I have found that clarity comes with action.

It’s not that the initial action was perfect, but by taking action allowed me to change the current situation and course-correct until I got where I wanted to be.

Take a Pause

Take a Pause

Today you’re being reminded of the importance to give yourself time to take a pause, to rest and relax.

Put everything you’re doing to one side.

Put it all down.

Put your feet up.

And just relax.

Focus on your breathing and let your body sink into whatever’s beneath it; a chair, a bed, a couch, the grass…

Allow yourself to be held and supported as you take this moment for yourself.

It’s in these moments that our energy is able to renew itself.

You can become present.

Your mind resets, you exhale fully, you drop your shoulders and release some of the stress you’ve been carrying.

It’s in these moments of pause that you often gain new insights, fresh ideas and new solutions to existing challenges.

Let your mind wander and the answers you seek are more likely to emerge.

Sometimes the most powerful and productive thing you can do is to stop.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you give yourself permission to have a rest.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to stop, rest and put your feet up, even if only for a few minutes.

Stretch out and allow yourself to sink into what whatever surface you’re on.

Focus on your breathing allowing it to become slower and deeper.

Let your body become soft and heavy as you fully let go.

Watch the clouds pass by, have a nap, daydream.

Let yourself rest deeply.

Pause, and take a breath. As you surrender to this moment of rest.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I value my need to rest”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy slowing down and resting!

PostScript

In a world that values doing and achieving over being and brewing it can be hard to give ourselves time to stop and rest.

Yet resting is as important as taking action. We need both.

We’ve been created within the vast wisdom of nature that holds our evolutionary knowledge, and nature time and time again, shows us that to be able to maintain being productive, it’s as important to rest as it is to take action.

The days of the year know the importance of action in the light of day and resting in the darkness of the night, and the seasons cycle through times of action during spring and summer and slowdown in autumn and then rest and withdrawal during winter.

So how are you going to rest today?
