Align with Your Inner Compass

Align with Your Inner Compass

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and intuitive guidance for your week ahead.

Last week in the SHEro Toolkit, we looked at the symbolism of The Broom and the importance of clearing outdated patterns.

Today, we move on to the card, The Compass and aligning with your own inner compass.

Where in your life do you need to align with your own truth?

Perhaps you’ve been doing, what’s been expected of you or following a path you thought you should, rather than following your own dreams, desires, and intuitive nudges.

Take a moment to ask your question about aligning with your own inner compass.

Where do you feel out of alignment?

Where have you been doing what you thought you should do instead of what you truly wanted to do?

We’re going to start by looking at the meaning of the Toolkit card, taking the traditional wisdom from the guidebook, then I’ll draw a second card and a charm so that we can dive deeper into the message of The Compass and how you align with your own inner compass.

The Compass – Align with Your Inner Compass

Re-enchant your life podcast

What do you think of when you think of compasses, I’ll share my thoughts, but as always, what you think is far more important and relevant to you and your life.

Use my thoughts as a starting point, something to inspire you or to start a train of thought. But what I share is not the right answer. It’s just one answer.

Only you have the right answer for you.

So, let’s begin.

In the guidebook it says:

When you follow your own unique path through life magic happens.

Compasses help us to navigate unfamiliar terrain. They provide guidance and keep us heading in the right direction.

No matter where we find ourselves, a compass will always show us the way home.

The compass reminds you to align with your inner truth, your dreams, and desires.

Under the weight of so many expectations and judgements, both perceived real, it can be difficult to choose what you want over what you feel you should do.

It can feel far easier to ignore that quiet voice or nudge from within and override your dreams and desires.

You may ignore them because you don’t want to rock the boat or to appear selfish, but it’s time to follow your heart and align with what you know, to be true for you.

Listen to that small voice within and allow it to lead you back home to your own truth.

This small voice is navigating you towards your purpose. It’s showing you what you’re here to do, be and express. It speaks to you through the language of joy and expansion. Follow the things that light you up, expand your heart and bring you more joy.

The SHEro action suggests; trust your inner compass.

Spend the day listening to the whispers of your intuition. What activities do you feel called to do? Where do you desire to visit? Who do you want to reach out to?

Notice who, what, and where feels aligned to your energy and values.

Perhaps it’s people and places that feel easy or joyful to be around, maybe it’s activities that make you lose all track of time.

Just remind yourself that you can trust your inner compass.

When you think of your question, how does any of that resonate for you now?

Remember when we’re dealing with our intuition, we don’t want to be asking ourselves; is that right?

Maybe something came to mind about where you need to trust yourself more and you asked; Oh, is that right?

But we don’t need to ask that. Because that stepping back into our logic, that’s really useful elsewhere.

What we need to ask ourselves is does that resonate?

That thing that came to mind where maybe you feel out of alignment, don’t ask, is that right? Ask, does that resonate? That will give you an honest answer.

I’m just going to shuffle the cards to get some more depth to where you need to align with your own inner compass, or how will you need to align with your own inner compass?

And we get The Crane Bag.

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Crane Bag

Re-enchant your life podcast

The wisdom on The Crane Bag says: you have everything you need.

That seems quite perfect, doesn’t it? Because often when we are aligning with our own inner compass and we’re hearing that in a voice we can think; maybe that’s not right. Maybe I should ask someone else. Maybe I should get external guidance. Maybe I need to do more, be more, have more… before I can actually act on that wisdom, and trust that small voice within.

And actually, The Crane Bag is reminding you that you have everything you need already.

So many times, I hear people say; Oh, well, you know, I’ll go for that job or, or change career, or I’ll make that change when I’m more qualified, when I feel more confident in what I’m doing, when I’ve reached a particular dress size, whatever it is… and the card The Crane Bag is reminding you that actually, that might help, but it’s not needed. You have everything you need already.

You already have that inner resourcefulness.

You can already trust yourself.

You don’t need external validation.

This is you giving yourself permission to say yes to something, to say no to something, to do more of something, or to stop doing something altogether so that you can come back into alignment with your own inner compass.

And sometimes that just means closing your eyes and putting your hand on your heart.

We close our eyes so we can shut out the noise of everything around us.

We put our hand on our heart just to ground us and centre us in our bodies.

And then we just ask; what do I need to do to come back into alignment? Or maybe; what do I need to change? Or maybe; where am I out of alignment in my life?

And then you listen to that answer.

You don’t need someone to tell you where you’re out of alignment.

You don’t need someone to tell you how to get back into alignment, because actually, when you stop and pause, you have those answers already. You just need to be able to trust yourself, which is the whole point of this podcast.

The Compass and The Crane Bag, they seem quite a nice fit, because you can put your compass in your Crane Bag, and then you really do have everything you need!

But let’s have a look, what additional insight can the charms bring us?

Ooh. And we have a bicycle. I think we’ve had the bicycle come up before… Even though I have over 650 charms in this box, the same charm comes out again.

ADDITIONAL CHARMS: The Bicycle

Re-enchant your life podcast

The bicycle, when you think of bikes, what do you think of?

It’s a push-bike.

For me, it’s joyful. You know, cycling has always been something that I’ve loved doing as a child, or I’ve done with my family. And it’s been days out and adventure. I am not a mountain biker, off-roader, or road racer, but you know, it’s always been for fun. For me, cycling represents joy, play and fun.

Your experience of cycling may be completely different. Take your meaning of cycling.

Also when I think of cycling, there’s a real freedom to it. There’s a real flow to it. Everything just going smoothly. Hopefully, there’s no potholes around!

It’s like, you know, align with your own inner compass, remember you have everything you need, because it’s time now to take action.

When you think of a bike, what does that represent to you? Maybe it also means something very similar; taking action. Moving, gliding, being in flow, perhaps it’s fun. It’s joyful feeling the wind to go through your hair.

You’re going quite quickly, but not so quickly that you’re missing the world around you. You can maybe take a little detour, you can get to places faster than just walking.

When you think about adding the bike charm to The Compass and The Crane Bag, what does that evoke for you?

How does that change the meaning of the cards, if at all?

For me, it’s almost like The Compass is saying, stop, align with yourself, The Crane Bag is  saying have the confidence to know that you can do, be, and have, whatever you dream. And then the bike is saying, now you can go get it.

So we’ve paused. We’ve taken stock of everything we have. And now it’s time to take action.

Perhaps, if your question was about aligning with your inner compass, perhaps the cards and the charm are telling you it’s now time to take action.

It’s time to make those changes. It’s time to say yes. It’s time to say no. It’s time to embrace more of your own truth, because if not now, when?

Perhaps when you see that the bag that’s green with a brown flap, and has a pentacle on it, and an infinity charm on the actual bag, perhaps that makes you think of something different, or maybe it will stay exactly the same. But it’s how you, your intuition speaks to you. That is the most important!

Thank you for joining me.

I’ll see you again next week for another episode of The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast, where we’re going to carry on spiraling deeper on this journey, working with the cards, and I’ll be back on Friday with some more guidance on trusting your intuition, all of it… so that you can trust yourself, and hear your intuition so that you can make better choices and ultimately trust yourself more deeply.

Until then, I’ll see you again very soon.

Clear Outdated Patterns

Clear Outdated Patterns

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and intuitive guidance for your week ahead.

Last week in the SHEro Toolkit, we looked at the symbolism of The Standing Stones and the importance of committing to your own path. Today, we move on to the card, The Broom; clearing outdated patterns.

Where in your life are you ready to clear out outdated patterns or beliefs?

Perhaps you’ve been repeating old patterns, time and time again, making choices that lead to the same or similar outcomes. Perhaps there’s a family pattern that you just can’t seem to free yourself from.

Take a moment to ask your question about clearing old patterns, and then we’ll look at the guidebook to get the wisdom and guidance from it. Then I’ll draw a second card, so that we can explore that first card in more depth, and then to add a deeper layer I’m going to pull a charm, so we’re working with three items to really access your intuition in a deep symbolic way for you.

The card is The Broom, and it’s a proper witchy broom, wooden handle, and branches for the bristles, like a bessom broom.

The Broom – Clear Outdated Patterns

Re-enchant your life podcast

What do brooms represent to you?

The guidebook says; Live life on your own terms and in your own way.

Brooms clear out spaces of things we no longer need, in preparation for fresh starts and new beginnings. They clear away the dust and the dirt to free us from old patterns. They protect us from the past and call in new energy.

It’s time to check your habits and routines, to clear out the ones that no longer align with who you are. Unhelpful patterns, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and responses that were once useful to you, many of them were set up in your childhood when you had limited experience and understanding of how to navigate challenges and situations, but now, many of those habits and patterns no longer serve you. You’ve outgrown them. And there are more productive ways for you to respond and behave.

We’re not taught to recognise these unhelpful patterns or the work that we can actually undo them. Maybe you don’t even realise that your responses are just unconscious and routine.

Become aware of these patterns, notice how they influence you and your life, so that you can replace them and get a different, more joyful results.”

The SHEro Action suggests; to clear outdated patterns of behavior. Notice where you fall into habitual patterns and responses. These will often be areas that trigger you and leave you feeling upset, annoyed, or frustrated. When this happens, get curious about where the response came from. It will often be rooted in fear, ask yourself what you’re afraid of. Some common fears include not good enough, being abandoned, not being loved, not being free and not being heard.

Just notice whatever you notice. Often just witnessing these patterns and habits is enough to loosen their grip on you. But if you’re ready to replace them, remind yourself as you notice each pattern of when it hasn’t been true for you. For example, if you feel not good enough, remind yourself of all the times that you have been good enough. Remember when you completed something, made something or receive praise about something.

How do those words resonate for you?

Are you ready to clear outdated patterns? To get that broom, to sweep way in all the nooks and corners of your life, of your beliefs, of your habits?

Now of course, some of those things you’ll want to stay because they’re supportive and nourishing and nurturing, and they’re aligned with the truth of who you are. But what are you ready to swot away with your broom?

What is that lingering pattern, or behaviour, or memory, that you’re just like, okay, enough, that’s done finished. Let it go. Because that’s the energy of the broom.

Fresh start, new beginnings, start with cleansing away the old. One of my favorite phrases is; making the space for the magic to happen.

You’re clearing away these old patterns, the old beliefs , so you can call in new energy, new opportunities.

So that’s the first card. Now let’s shuffle the deck and see how the second card adds more depth and more flavour to The Broom.

We have The Unlit Candle; embrace the darkness.

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Unlit Candle

Re-enchant your life podcast

Now the darkness is an interesting idea because we’re very much taught to fear the darkness. It’s where the monsters live. And whilst I’m not advocating going down, any dodgy, dark alleys, it is about not being afraid of the darkness, because the darkness is really just the unknown.

And so when we’re clearing away outdated patterns, it seems very relevant that we have to also embrace the darkness, because those patterns that we’ve done, those habits, those reactions that we’ve always had, whilst they might not be healthy for us, whilst we might not like them, or who we become when we’re in that pattern, it’s known to us; this person does this, I’m going to react like this.

You may end up feeling terrible about it, but it’s a tried and tested method. You know the outcome.

If you stop doing that, if you quit a bad habit, it’s like, who are you without that response? Without that safety blanket, who are you when you’re doing something different?

Who are you when you don’t have that old pattern of behavior to rely on, to blame, to give your power away to?

So part of this idea of clearing outdated patterns, is allowing yourself the space to enter the darkness, that space where the seed of potential is, the energetic womb space, where we can create anything.

When you think of an unlit candle and the being in the darkness, how does that make you feel? Is that a comfortable place? Because if it’s not, if you don’t like being in the darkness, if it’s uncomfortable, uncomfortable for you not to know exactly what’s going to happen next, it’s probably going to be hard for you to clear those outdated patterns, because you don’t know who you are without those habits, without those reactions, without that family conditioning.

Let’s draw a charm to see what added guidance we get on top of this.

Ooh, there’s two charms today. One stuck to my finger, and one stuck to my thumb… And it’s the word grace and the other one is a wishbone.

ADDITIONAL CHARMS: ‘Grace’ and The Wishbone

Re-enchant your life podcast

What feels really significant here is the word grace.

I talked about clearing outdated patterns and stepping into the darkness. This really feels like habits. What habits do you have to get rid of? What unhealthy habits are they? I mean, they might be things like, smoking. It’s clearly a bad habit for people, and the charms says, give yourself some grace while you go through the process of releasing those habits.

Now they might be a habit to a substance, but also they could be habits of blaming yourself, habits of not giving yourself the benefit of the doubt, a habit of not having your own back. And the charm is saying, grace, give yourself some grace, take a moment to pause, to come back to centre, to be your own best friend, to know that if you want to clear that outdated pattern, but you fall back off the wagon, so to speak, give yourself a moment of grace, because you can always try again.

You can try something and if it doesn’t work the first time, or second time, or third time, there’s always a fourth time. You can keep having a go. There’s no hard and fast rules of how many times you get to try if that’s something that you really want to do. So give yourself some grace.

And then it’s really curious, because what does the wishbone mean to you, when you think of wishbones?

People usually break wishbones with their little fingers and make a wish, hence they’re called ‘wishbones’. What is your deepest desire? Your deepest wish?

It’s asking you to let that wish, let that desire, be bigger than your fear, and your needs to stay the same. Because often, the wish, the choice, the intention, is the easy part. When you actually have to do something, when you have to commit to something, that’s when it becomes more challenging, because that’s when you come up against the obstacles.

How can you give yourself some grace, let yourself dream your biggest juiciest dream?

What are those wishes that you’re putting out to the universe?

Because to make those wishes come true, to make those intentions come true. It’s going to require that you clear those outdated patterns. All of those patterns that have prevented you from moving forward, from claiming those wishes, and to clear those outdated patterns, that is the energy of embracing the darkness.

And actually, it’s interesting as I looked at the candle, I’m like, Oh, it’s an unlit candle. It’s like, you make a wish, don’t you with the wishbone, just like you make a wish on a birthday cake. As you blow out the candle, you surrender your intention into the darkness, you’re setting that seed of potential into the darkness so that it can grow, be nourished and flourish.

What is the wish that you’re putting out into the world right now?

When you think of the question that you asked at the beginning of this episode, what patterns do you need to clear?

Because those are the patterns that are going to move you towards your wishes. Clearing those patterns is what’s going to get you what you actually desire.

How does any of that resonate for you?

Come and find me on Instagram @themodernwitchway, and let me know what you think about The Broom, what you think about The Unlit Candle, and what you think about the word grace and the wishing bone. Come and share with us how that has influenced your question, how your intuition is speaking to you through these cards.

Perhaps some of what I said resonated for you, perhaps it didn’t. Take what I say that’s useful and ignore the rest, because it’s how the cards speak to you, that’s important.

I’ll see you again next week for another dose of intuitive guidance for your week ahead.

I hope you’re finding them useful. It really is important to practice your intuitive skills, to practice listening to the answers because that’s how you learn to trust yourself and make better choices.

Until then, I’ll see you again very soon.

Commit to Your Own Path

Commit to Your Own Path

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and intuitive guidance for the week ahead.

Last week in The SHEro Toolkit, we looked at the symbolism of The Butterfly, and the importance of embracing your truth. Today, we move on to the card, The Standing Stones, and you’re reminded to commit to your own path.

Where in your life have you been doing what you thought you should do instead of following your own path?

Perhaps you’ve been following the path most trodden, but your heart wants to make its own path, to try something different, to do something different.

Take a moment to ask your question about committing to your path.

And then as always, we’ll start by looking at the meaning of The SHEro Toolkit card, taking wisdom and guidance from the guidebook, then I’ll draw a second card so that we can explore how the card adds more meaning to the first card. And then I’ll pick a charm, allowing us again, to add a deeper layer of meaning, to the message for you.

Today the card is The Standing Stones.

What do you think of when you think of standing stones?

I’ll share my thoughts, but as always, what you think is far more important and relevant. Use my thoughts as a starting point, something to inspire you, but it’s not the right answer. Only you have the right answer.

Let’s begin.

The Standing Stones… How many are there? There’s three, four, five, six. Six standing stones in a circle, and one in the middle.

The Standing Stones – Commit to Your Own Path

Re-enchant your life podcast

What do standing stones represent to you?

In the guidebook? It says:

“Follow your own path, not the one that others want you to walk.

Standing stones are sacred groves made of rock. They offer a spiritual pathway that mirror the strength of our convictions. When we stand in our own truth and integrity, the standing stones remind you to commit to your own path. Choosing to follow your own path, takes courage. You may feel alone, and others may not understand your choices. Your choices might even make other people feel uncomfortable.

The world around you is invested in getting you to conform, because conformity makes other people feel comfortable. They understand the rules and they feel safe because they know what to expect. But conformity is not your path.

You’re here to be true to you, to commit o your path and root in your truth. Doing anything less would be a disservice to yourself and the world around you. It would deprive yourself and others of your unique gifts and your own unique blend of magic.

It’s time to commit to your path, to show up fully, to celebrate all that you are and explore your fullest potential.”

The SHEro Actions that you should just seek out people and communities who share your values and beliefs. These could be either in-person, communities, or online groups.

Connect with the shared stories of other people who are walking their own paths, whether you do this through books, articles, and podcasts, remind yourself that you aren’t alone. You may feel different and misunderstood by your family and even your oldest friends, but there are people searching to connect with someone just like you. Be open to create new friendships, be okay with feeling lonely or different at times.

You’ve chosen to walk a different path. Reconnect with what’s important to you and where you’re heading.

When you hear those words, which words resonate for you?

Are you ready to commit to walking your own path?

Perhaps you do have that inner calling, that feeling that’s suggesting you take a different route, do something different, try something different. But perhaps a small part of you doesn’t want to rock the boat, that doesn’t want to feel judged by other people.

But maybe it’s time. Maybe your time is now.

Okay. I’m just going to shuffle the cards and let’s find what’s going to go with our standing stones.

Okay, we have The Key; reclaim your power.

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Key

Re-enchant your life podcast

The Key, that’s very beautiful with these cards actually, because The Key is the symbol of the Intuitive SHEro. It’s the key to unlocking and reclaiming your own power, of trusting yourself, of knowing yourself deeply.

When we want to commit to our path, like I just mentioned, sometimes we can be afraid to commit to our own path. Maybe we don’t trust ourselves. We don’t know how people around us are going to respond or react to us.

This cards reminds us to reclaim your power. And this might be reclaiming power from friends, from family, even from cultures and society.

You know, everybody has a vested interest in what’s best for us, whether it is our family, whether it is society and culture, what they expect from us, what they want to see us do.

And when we can reclaim our power, when we can call back our energy, we’re not beholden to anybody else. We make our own choices from a place of aligned, inner authority, from a place of truth, from a place of inner-knowing, rather than from a place of fear and thinking ‘Oh, I’ve got to do this, because my family expect it of me’. Or ‘Oh, I have to do this because my culture dictates that this is what happens’, or ‘I have to do this, because if I don’t, society are going to judge me as X, Y, and Z’.

I think those cards work really, really beautifully together.

For you to really commit to your own path, you have to reclaim your power. Otherwise, what happens is you take four steps forward and three steps back.

You’re like, yeah, this is what I’m going to do. I’m going to forge my own path, I’m going to head in this direction, and you do. And then if you haven’t got your own power, if you’re not in your own energy, people judge you, they might try and shame you. They’ll tell you what you’re doing is wrong. That tell you your decision is silly. And then you’ll be like, ‘Oh my goodness, perhaps their right’. And you give your power away.

And instead, when you’re in your own power, and you’re committed to your own path, you acknowledge what they’ve said, if these people are important to you, and you still make your own decision, even if they’re saying don’t do that, that’s wrong. You’ll have the clarity of energy and say ‘thank you for your information. Thank you for your opinion. But I’ve got to give myself the chance to give this a go’.

And it may not work out the way that you had planned, but you have to give yourself the option to find that.

So yes, The Standing Stones; commit to your own path, and The Key; reclaim your power.

Let’s see what the charms add to this.

Ooh, I have a postcard and the postcard says, ‘I love you on it’.

Oh, how beautiful.

ADDITIONAL CHARM: The Postcard

Re-enchant your life podcast

So you’re going to commit to your own path. You’ve called back your power. And you’re going to send people postcards because you’re off on your own adventure. Off on your own journey, traveling to far off lands. Even if those far off lands are actually your own inner landscape. Even if those far off lands, aren’t actually traveling outside of where you would usually travel, but you are deciding to pursue different hobbies, or a different career, or different relationships.

So that postcard obviously might not be a real postcard, but it could be. But I really love that the postcard has the words, ‘I love you’ on it.

And I think that’s really beautiful because it’s like a love note to self. It’s like you’re going on this journey, you’re taking yourself there and you’re filling yourself up with your own love, knowing that you don’t need it from anybody else. Love from anyone else is just icing.

You have your back. You’re committed to your own path. You’ve reclaimed your own power. And you know that you love yourself.

Perhaps you will send an ‘I love you’ postcard to friends and family as well, but it really does feel like, as you go on your own path, as you travel, you’re sending yourself that energy of love. You’re recording your own adventures with love grace and gratitude.

How do they feel to you?

What comes to mind when you think of standing stones, a key, and a postcard?

Perhaps you’re like Rebecca, I agree, or you’re like, no, no, Rebecca, this is what I think it means. If so, come and share with me on Instagram, that’s my favorite place to find me. Come over to @themodernwitchway and let me know what you think about standing stones, keys, and postcards. I would love to hear your thoughts.

As always, I hope you found that useful guidance for the week ahead. The question you had about how to choose, how to commit to your own path, how to decide which way in life to go, is about you committing to your path, reclaiming your power, and just keeping a record of it, reminding yourself that you love you, that you have your own back.

I will see you again next time for some more guidance for the week ahead. And I will see you on soon for some different kind of inspiration, almost like… I want to say, almost like a class, but that sounds a bit schoolish doesn’t it? But I do run The Witch Academy, so of course, I guess it has to be a bit schoolish… On a Friday now the podcasts are going to be more about how you do connect with your intuition.

Monday is going to be the practical, let’s put everything into practice. Let’s explore the cards, let’s explore the charms, see what messages are there for you. And then on the Friday, it’s going to be a kind of, I’ll call it a teaching… I’m just going to claim that teacher energy, more of a very short, easy digestible teaching or an interview, but I know this Friday, it’s actually going to be a mini teaching.

Thank you very much for joining me. I hope you enjoy exploring the journey through the SHEro Toolkit cards with me, as you awaken your own intuition and learn to understand how the world communicates with you, so that you can learn to trust yourself deeply again.

Until next time, I’ll see you again very soon.

Embrace Your Truth

Embrace Your Truth

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca-Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and an intuitive twist, as we use oracle cards and charm casting, to answer those questions you have.

On the last episode, we looked at the symbolism of The Crystals and the importance of remembering that you don’t have to do it alone. Today. We move on to the card The Butterfly, and you’re reminded to embrace your truth.

Where in your life have you been avoiding your truth? Perhaps you’ve been hiding your true dreams and desires. Maybe you’ve been playing small and are ready to name and claim what you really want in life.

Take a moment to ask your question about embracing your truth.

Then we’ll look at the meaning of the SHEro Toolkit card, taking wisdom from the guidebook, and I’ll draw a second card so that we can explore how that card adds more meaning to the first card. And then I’m going to draw a charm, allowing us again, to add a deeper layer of meaning, to the message.

The Butterfly – Embrace Your Truth

Re-enchant your life podcast

With your question in mind, about how to embrace your truth, the guidebook says:

“You are here to express the unique way in which you see the world, as only you can.”

Butterflies are powerful symbols of transformation. They accept the truth of what they are, as their environments and bodies go through the process of deep, irreversible metamorphosis.

The Butterfly reminds you to embrace your truth it’s time to live your truth out loud in the world.

Ignore the people who tell you not to take risks, even if they mean well.

Ignore the people who tell you not to draw attention to yourself, even if they speak from their own painful experiences.

Ignore the people who tell you to play small and don’t value your contribution, as they probably don’t value their own.

Deep inside you, there’s a part of you that knows what you’re here to do. It wants you to stand taller. To take up space. To speak from your heart. To align your actions with your truth. It’s time to take up space with the truth of who you are, as you unapologetically embrace your whole self.

The SHEro Action suggests: Notice where you aren’t living your truth.

Ask yourself:

  • What parts of your life are out of alignment with your truth?
  • Are you living this way out of habit or fear?
  • What do you need to live more of your truth out loud in the world?
  • What do you need to make yourself feel safer, more confident and more aligned, so you can live your truth?
  • How can you give yourself permission to be more you?

How can you give yourself permission to be more you to live your truth out loud in the world?

Along with the butterfly, let’s see what other message the toolkit cards have for us.

I’m just shuffling the cards… and the second card is The Bridge.

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Bridge

Re-enchant your life podcast

The Bridge reminds you to move forward confidently.

When we’re talking about embracing your truth, you may well be thinking to yourself, but Rebecca, I don’t know what my truth is.

I can’t remember my dreams and my desires, which is very common because people often have spent so long prioritising other people over themselves, so long pushing down their dreams and desires, and hiding them for fear of being seen as selfish, for fear, or for thinking that they have to prioritise other things first; maybe an education, maybe a relationship, maybe family, maybe any kind of social construct.

But, The Bridge says “No”.

It says, now is the time to move forward confidently. Not to be defined by your past, not to think, Oh, well it’s always been done that way. Or that’s the way my family has always done it. It’s like, no, you get to choose right now to fully embrace your truth, to show up in the fullness of who you are, and to move forward confidently.

Does that sound exciting? Or you’re like, Oh my goodness, I’m not sure that I can.

I’m just going to pick a charm now to give us some additional insight into The Butterfly and The Bridge. Both of those actually very moving cards, you’ve got the butterfly spreading its wings, and expanding. It’s light, and it’s free. It’s gone through the change. It’s gone through the metamorphosis to become all that it can be. And it’s given itself that sense of freedom. So that card has the movement and the flight.

And then The Bridge moves us from one place to another, the old you to the new you. And it’s interesting because The Bridge is the symbol of the Intuitive SHEro. And so it’s like the old you into the new, you, as you become more awakened, as you become more intuitive, as you become more aware of yourself and the world around you. It’s embracing the truth of who you are. Allowing yourself to trust your intuition.

I’m now just going to have a look, rattling my charms here… Alright, what’s coming up?

It’s three wise monkeys, you know, the see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil monkeys.

ADDITIONAL CHARM: The Three Wise Monkeys

Re-enchant your life podcast

If you, again, think of this embracing your truth, moving forward, confidently. And it’s, to me, when I look at these monkeys right now, it’s about conscious choice, conscious creation, it’s about the ability to respond rather than react.

The first monkey has its hands over his mouth and it’s symbolising to consciously choose your words. Your words are the ultimate spells. What we put out into the world. You speak and send that vibration rippling around the world and in our own lives. If you’re saying; ‘Oh, I can’t ever do that’. ‘Oh, it’s really hard’, and you’re using language like that. well, guess what? That becomes your story. That becomes a spell that you’re enchanted under.

If you change those words to; ‘it’s challenging, but I’ve got the support and the tenacity to keep going’, or ‘you know, it’s always been that way in the past and now I’m choosing a different way forward’. And you start talking positively about yourself. You start using the language of hope and possibility, that’s not to pretend everything’s perfect and not to pretend things aren’t difficult, but just to give yourself the opportunity to step into the place of potential, rather than having a door slammed in your face as if it was already done.

The next little monkey has got his hands over his eyes. We’re embracing your truth, really see your truth, not to hide it from yourself and not to hide it from the world, but to allow yourself to see you in your your highest version of yourself. Maybe that’s uncomfortable for you to see yourself in that position, to know that you can do, be, and have, or at least work towards being, doing, and having, what you truly desire in the world.

And then the final monkey has his hands over his ears. That brings to mind to two things. The first thing that comes to mind is shutting out the noise of other people’s judgments expectations, and second, to ask yourself, where are you shutting out your own wisdom?

It’s good to shut out the noise and expectations of the world around us. It’s very good to shut out the noise of everything when it all becomes too much, too overwhelming, but is there a chance that you’re cutting out your own intuition, that you’re not listening to your own wisdom?

So, that’s what those monkeys mean to me. When you then look at embracing your truth, moving forward confidently, and making sure that you are communicating with yourself in a very clear and honest way, because you know, we’ve mentioned before about the way that you learn to trust your intuition is that you become honest.

You become a person of your word to yourself first and foremost, because we know that we don’t trust people that lie to us, but if you’re lying to yourself and saying, Oh, I don’t know what I should do with my life. But actually you’re just afraid of the repercussions of the choices that you’ll have to make, so that you can do what you want to do, well, that then becomes dishonest.

And when you’re dishonest to yourself, guess what? We don’t trust ourselves. So we have an intuitive insight, we don’t trust it because we don’t trust ourselves. And it doesn’t have to be as grand as that.

It could be as simple as you know, I often joke because this is something I need to do more of, but if you say to yourself, I’m going to have an early night tonight, and then you don’t, your body remembers. If you say to yourself, I’m going to get more exercise and you don’t, your body remembers, and suddenly you’re lying to yourself.

It’s just like these three monkeys, you have to really be conscious of your own creation, be conscious of the words that you’re choosing, be conscious of the conversations you’re having with yourself, and become loyal to yourself.

Become someone that you can absolutely trust. And then of course, you’re going to be able to embrace your truth, you’re going to be able to move forward confidently, because your energy, your thoughts, your feelings, your goals, and your intentions are all aligned.

Today, as you embrace your truth, do so confidently knowing that you have your own back because you’re a woman of your own word.

Now, obviously that is just my thoughts and my initial feelings on the cards and the charms, what’s more important is, what do you think of when you think of a butterfly? What do you think of when you think about a bridge? What do you think of when you think of those hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkeys.

Notice how they feel for you because what you feel, and what you think is far more important than what I think.

Thank you for joining me.

I’ll see you again very soon for another episode of the Re-Enchant Your Life podcast where we’re going to carry on spiraling, deeper on this journey, helping you to trust your intuition so that you can make better choices.

You Don’t Have to Do it Alone

You Don’t Have to Do it Alone

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca-Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and intuitive twist as we use Oracle cards and charm casting to answer those questions you have.

On the last episode, we looked at the symbolism of The Book of Shadows and the importance of recording your experiences. Today, we move on to the card, The Crystals, and you’re reminded that you don’t have to do it alone.

Where in your life do you have a question about getting support?

Perhaps you have a choice to make and need support.

Perhaps you have a hard time trusting other people or think that you’re the only one that can be relied on.

Just take a moment to ask your question about being supported in life, or by life.

And then as always, we’ll start by looking at the meaning of the SHEro Toolkit Card. We’ll take the wisdom from the guidebook. Then I’ll draw a second card so that we can explore how that card adds more meaning and nuance to the first card. And then I’m going to draw a charm, allowing us again to deepen into our understanding of the message for you.

As always take the information I share as a starting point for your own intuitive wisdom. The more you show up to these episodes, the more you practice, the more you’ll start ignoring me altogether and listening to yourself. And that’s exactly how it should be.

So let’s start.

Crystals.

The Crystals – You Don’t Have to Do it Alone

Re-enchant your life podcast

What do you think of when you think of crystals?

Perhaps you have a favourite crystal. Perhaps you think about the colour or the shape or the frequency, the vibrancy of them. Perhaps you don’t like crystals.

Just notice what you think of when you think of crystals. Now, the crystal on this deck of cards, it’s a purple crystal and it’s cluster of crystals. But what colour were you thinking of when I mentioned the word crystals?

It says “You’re capable enough to do it alone, but it’s more fun not to. Crystals are allies from the mineral kingdom. We can use them to support us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Crystals come in all colours, shapes, and sizes, and they share their own unique gifts with us. Crystals remind you that you’re not alone on this journey. You may feel alone sometimes, but life is a shared journey that we all take. On the outside, your experiences may look very different from another’s, but the underlying patterns are always the same.

Every time you make a decision or experience change in your life, you go on a tried and tested path, a shared journey, knowing that there’s a map to guide and support you is reassuring. Knowing that others have shared the same experience is comforting. Do you allow yourself to receive and be supported? Or do you resist asking for help and think you have to do it all alone? Support comes in many forms. It might look like physical love and support, or it could be someone who believes in you and send you good wishes. Maybe it looks like someone sharing their story, their lesson and wisdom with you. It could also be the voice of someone encouraging you to keep going or telling you to try again. Both the big and the small acts of support will send ripples of magic through your life.

They’ll open up your potential, allowing your true self to show up in the world and shine, that you must be open enough to both receiving and allowing them”.

The SHEro actions suggests get support.

Notice where in your life you may be refusing or rejecting support that’s already there.

How can you accept the support that’s available to you?

Get clear on what kind of support you need in your life right now, and then ask for it. No hinting or expecting others to read your mind. Instead, clearly and unapologetically ask for what you need and then allow yourself to receive it.

How does that feel about knowing that actually you can ask for what it is you want? Are you like, “Yes, of course, Rebecca. Of course, I’m going to ask.” Or do you feel as, unfortunately, many people do? “Oh, my goodness, who am I to ask? I can’t ask for that. They’ll think I’m being cheeky or rude.”

Perhaps you’re so used to prioritising other people that you’ve forgotten to prioritise yourself.

Perhaps you see yourself as the fixer or the person that’s always in the role of support, rather than knowing you’re allowed to ask for help.

You’re allowed to say no to someone else, so that you can say yes to yourself.

You’re allowed to ask for something just for you.

How does that start to answer your question?

I’m just going to draw another card from the deck and see what energy is going to go with the card, the crystals. And it’s The Chair.

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Chair

Re-enchant your life podcast

It’s a big, comfy red chair with a golden, yellow cushion. And it says The Chair; take a sacred pause.

To me, this changes the meaning of the first card, or the focus of the first card, quite significantly.

It’s like, you don’t have to do it alone and take a sacred pause.

Instead of thinking you’re the only person that can do something, give yourself permission to stop. Either don’t do it, ask someone else to do it, or do it on another time.

What feels really good for you right now?

Knowing that you don’t have to do it alone, knowing that the world’s not going to stop if you do, I’m pretty sure it won’t, but maybe I’m wrong.

But feel into that, when you’re thinking of the question; where you needed support, do you need support to stop doing that thing?

Do you need support so you don’t have to do it all yourself?

Or do you need support in postponing or delaying that thing?

Because the cards are suggesting that it’s time to rest.

It’s time to have a sacred pause to give yourself space to breathe.

Now that might just be for an afternoon. It might be for a week. It might be for a month.

How long does that sacred pause feel like it’s going to be?

If there’s a particular “job” that you do, so it might not be like a paid job I’m talking about, but maybe something around the home, maybe you could ask someone else to do it? Or you could pay someone else to do it, or perhaps you just stop doing it and see whether you actually notice.

You might be doing something because you think it should be done. And actually, it’s not really that important to you at all.

The other thing I like about these cards is the crystals are hard and tall and pokey. Whereas the chair is really comfy.

When you’re thinking of not having to do it alone, although the crystals is a cluster of crystals, there’s a formation of them, so you’re not alone. But where do you have that rigid energy of the crystal, of standing tall by yourself, rather than softening and asking for help.

Rather than softening and knowing you don’t have to exhaust yourself and step into burnout just to be valid, appreciated or to have worth.

You’re not a factory.

Your value is not on your output.

You’re allowed to stop and pause.

Just like we were talking about last time, about The Book of Shadows, and it was talking about rhythms and cycles. There’s day and there’s night, and there’s summer and there’s winter, and there’s the new moon and the full moon, there’s action and there’s pause.

And right now the cards are asking you just to take a moment to pause, to give yourself space to rest and breathe, so that you can gather your thoughts and then move forward, feeling supported.

Maybe supported by other people, but maybe just feeling supported by yourself, knowing you have your own back and you’re going to define your boundaries and say no to some things, and say yes to others.

I’m just going to pick a charm now, so just rustling in my charm box here. And now we have a castle.

ADDITIONAL CHARM: The Castle

Re-enchant your life podcast

When I think of castles, I think of a fortresses. I just mentioned about really firming up your boundaries. Where do you need to get really clear on?

It’s like lifting your drawbridge, defending your time, your energy, your resources, so that you can have that pause, knowing that you have your own back.

What is really interesting is I think this is the first time where you have the original card and it’s like, “Oh, yeah, you can get support” and everything’s really good. But the second card came along and was like, “Oh, this has completely changed the flavour of the first card.” I mean, not like 180 degrees, more like 90. And it’s like, “Oh, okay.”

And now that we have the castle, to me, that’s reinforcing the sacred pause, and reminding you to get really protective around your boundaries, around your resources, around your energy.

Say, for example, perhaps you’re a mum and you’re used to being, or expected to be, the primary caretaker. You’re being reminded you don’t have to do it alone. You can ask for help because it’s okay to have that sacred pause.

And now what the castle is telling you to do, is to get really clear on your boundaries and be like, “No, this is what’s happening. I’m not doing this today, this week, this month ever again.” Whichever one feels good and whichever one is appropriate.

Sometimes you have to be really protective of your boundaries, of your energy, of your resources, of your time, of your money, whatever it is.

Maybe you have other people pushing your limits, your boundaries, and the cards are right now just saying, “Just stop, rest, pause. It doesn’t all have to be you that’s giving, giving, giving.”

And I think we very much live in a society right now where we really celebrate achieving and busyness, rather than being and brewing.

It’s like the mum that has several children, she’s on the soccer team, and she’s organising all the parties. She’s baking all the cakes from scratch and, and, and, and, and, and…

She’s celebrated; “Oh, my God, she’s so amazing.” She’s just incredible…. And yet she’s absolutely exhausted.

And yet the mum who is saying ‘no’ to extra events, because she knows she needs to rest, she can get a bit of a side-eye. She can get a bit of judgment thrown her way; “Ooh, look at her. Who does she think she is?”

And yet it’s the person that is clear on their boundaries. It’s the person that can say no, that can take that sacred pause, that can put up their guard and say, “Actually, I don’t have anything else to give right now.” Or hopefully you can say that well before you get to ‘nothing else to give’… and say “Actually, I don’t want to right now. I know that’s not going to be good for me long term.”

That’s the person that we should be celebrating because otherwise when we’re doing things and we’re exhausting ourselves, we just become frustrated. We become angry. We become annoyed with it. We just become not great people to be around.

So an answer to your question about the support that you need right now, consider; “How can you give that support to yourself?”

First of all, it started with, “Oh, yeah, maybe this is support from other people.” But it turned into; “How can you support yourself, as you protect your time, your energy and your resources?”

How does that feel?

Do let me know. See what you think about the very strong crystals next to the soft chair, and then to the up the pointy turrets of the castle.

It’s like hard, soft, hard. Maybe there’s something in that too. It’s like knowing that you’re soft in the middle like the chair, but actually you need the firmness of the boundaries surrounding you right now.

Thank you for joining me. I’ll see you again very soon for another episode of the Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast, where we continue exploring the messages and meanings of the symbols of the cards so that you get used to trusting yourself and trusting your intuition, so that you can make better choices as you hear and understand the wisdom and the language of your soul.

Until then I will see you again very soon.

Record Your Experiences

Record Your Experiences

Welcome back to the Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen.

I’m back with some inspiration and an intuitive twist, as we use Oracle cards and charm casting to answer the questions you have.

On the last episode, we looked at the symbolism of The Map and the importance of trusting your knowledge. Today we move on to the card, The Book of Shadows, and you’re reminded to record your experiences.

Where in your life do you have a question about your experiences and the patterns that guide you throughout your life?

Perhaps you have a choice to make and you don’t want to repeat past patterns of behaviour, or perhaps you need to be reminded of the positive things that happen when you follow your heart.

Just take a moment right now to ask your question that you have about trusting your experiences in life.

And then to start with, we’re going to turn to the SHEro toolkit card itself, and we’re going to take the wisdom from the guide book. Then, I’ll draw a second card so that we can explore how that card adds more meaning to the first card. Then I’m going to draw a charm. Oh, I love my charms, allowing us again to add a deeper layer of meaning to that message for you.

We start with the card, The Book of Shadows, reminding you to record your experiences. What do you think of, when you think of a book of shadows? Do you even know what a book of shadows is?

The Book of Shadows – Record Your Experiences

Re-enchant your life podcast

The Book of Shadows, the guidebook says, “Your past becomes the path for your future.”

A book of shadows is a personal journal that focuses on your spiritual development and your magical self, rather than being just a to-do list. It’s a place to record your thoughts and your spiritual practices and experiences so that ultimately you can get to know yourself better.

The Book of Shadows reminds you to record your experiences.

Your life is guided by patterns. The seasons keep rhythm, and the sun and the moon keep time externally. Your body clock and monthly menstrual cycle, if you have one, keep time internally.

There’s majesty in patterns, they’re dependable, bringing structure, routine and order to life. When you feel out of sync, disconnected or overwhelmed, look for the patterns that surround you, remind yourself that they can be trusted to show up and guide you back home to yourself, time and time again.

Day follows the darkest of nights, just as spring follows even the coldest of winters, the moon always reappears after disappearing from the sky, light always follows the darkness.

As an adult, your pure innocent has gone. You’ve endured and have overcome, or in the process of overcoming hardships. You know that anything can change in a moment and yet you can still depend on the patterns and the rhythms that govern you and root into your daily life.

The SHEro actions suggested by the book says, “Record your experiences, pay attention to the moon over the next few nights and days. Get familiar with where we are in her cycle. Notice how she moves across your sky and where and when you can see her. Become aware of her dependable patterns as she cycles through her phases, no matter what’s going on in your life. Notice how she influences the way that you feel. Pause and take a breath, as you allow the moon to ground you into her rhythms of life.”

Do you notice the rhythms in your life?

Do you notice the ebbs and flow of maybe your emotions, maybe how you feel, maybe your dreams, maybe your intuition, maybe your grumpiness, maybe your pleasure?

It’s like, have you noticed those experiences?

The question that you have right now, is there a pattern that you can connect with to help you make your decision?

Is there wisdom in your past experiences that you know that when you trust your heart, when you follow the intuition, it might feel scary at fast, but it always works out in the end.

Or are there patterns where you followed someone else’s guidance and maybe it worked, so you can trust it again, or it didn’t work the way that you hoped and actually, maybe, don’t trust it again.

Just notice how the idea of recording your experiences, drawing on the past, recognising the patterns, can support you answering the question that you have.

I’m just going to draw another card, got the SHEro toolkit cards here, the rest of the deck. And of course, if you have your own deck of the SHEro Toolkit cards, let me know, because it would be quite fun if when we were doing this, if you pulled your own card right now to find out what deeper meaning you can have to The Book of Shadows, but if you don’t have your deck yet, let me draw one for us.

Oh I think we’ve had this one come up before actually. It’s The Pentacle and it says, “Commit to yourself.”

ADDITIONAL CARD: The Pentacle

Re-enchant your life podcast

So we have record your experiences and then commit to yourself. The Pentacle reminds us that we have everything we need within us.

The Pentacle is a five-pointed star. Those five points of that star represents the elements, and all of those elements are within us, and around us. So that’s really interesting that both of that links into the rhythms we were just talking about, the seasons, the day to night, the moon, all of those are the elements that are external, but also those same rhythms and patterns that flow within us.

And also, if you think of the five pointed star, it’s like a human standing with their feet apart and the arms out to the side. It’s like you are taking up all of the space. You’re not cowering, you’re not playing small, you’re standing tall, confident and proud, knowing that you are clear and sure and confident in who you are, so that you can commit to yourself. And the way that you know more about the truth of who you are, is to record your experiences, is to get to know yourself better.

I’ve shared this time again, but I think it’s worth sharing again, I believe that our purpose in life is to be the most fully expressed version of ourselves, regardless of situation or circumstances. It’s like we can still show up in the fullness of who we are.

We can still be honest, if honesty is important to us. We can still be fun, if fun is important to us, that’s regardless of things going on around us.

And it feels like… record your experiences, get to know yourself better and then commit to yourself. Commit to that choice that you want to make. Commit to knowing yourself deeply. Commit to trusting yourself deeply, because however old you are, you have a rich history of experience to draw upon.

So we’ve got those two cards and you’re going to hear me shuffling now, as I collect at least one charm, sometimes two sneak out. I have my perfume box here full of charms. And two charms came out. I pulled one out clearly, and then one stuck to my finger.

The first one is a flower. I was just counting how many petals it had, I was like Oh, is it a pentacle? But no, this one has six.

So we have the flower and we have a bicycle too.

ADDITIONAL CARD: Flower and Bicycle

Re-enchant your life podcast

When we look at recording your experiences, committing to yourself, we now have the energy of the flower, which is about… well I think of flowers and in the deck of cards, in the SHEro Toolkit cards, I also have charms for them too, there’s a charm casting kit, which it has all of that correspondances to the Toolkit cards, and the flower is representing the meadow. And the meadow is all about innocence and joy and light-heartedness.

When you commit to yourself, what I feel right now is, although it’s serious work, although its deep work, it can still have that energy of lightness, of fun, of curiosity. It’s like, although it’s a book of shadows, it doesn’t have to be a musty, dusty book. It can be vibrant and alive.

In fact, one of my favourite things in a book of shadows that I’m working on at the moment is, it’s full of colour. It’s full of different coloured papers.

And I was like, I’m not a very good scrap journaler, but I’m learning and I’m giving it a go. And now, like today I had four different pieces of paper in different colours, and I had some washi tape; I got slightly obsessed with washi tape a couple of years ago and I have quite a few to choose from….

Bring that colour and that joy, as you commit to yourself, the richness, the full colour of who you are, bring all of that to the table.

And with the bike, it’s keep moving forward.

When I think of bikes, it’s play. I don’t know how people can ride on road bikes. Where I live in the UK, on skinny country roads, but if I ignore that part for the moment, really, bikes for me mean fun.

They’re something that I can do with children. Go on bike rides and picnics with the family, and it feels light and playful and something that will propel you forward.

When we put that together, it’s like record your experiences, commit to the truth of who you are, but do so and commit to that energy with lightness and play. As you take action that moves you forward, again from a place of lightness, of play, of child like innocence, rather than childish, there’s a huge difference.

But what do flowers mean to you?

Perhaps record your experiences, commit to yourself and perhaps flowers to you are a gift.

What is the gift that you bring?

What are the gifts that you’ve recorded throughout your experiences?

What is the gift you need to commit to, and then get on your bike and keep going.

It’s like forwards, let’s go.

And the thing about a bike as well, it’s, well, this particular bike, is a one person bike. It’s not as though you’re traveling in a car and you’ve got passengers. This is your journey. This is about you staying in your lane and being true to yourself.

You have complete control of the bike. You’ve got the handlebars, you can control how fast you’re going. You can control whether you’re on the road, whether you’re on the cycle track, or whether you’re going off-road altogether.

I mean, in fairness, this doesn’t look like this bike here would do very well off road. But what additional information does the flower and the bike bring for you?

Just notice how the symbols, The Book of Shadows, The Pentacle, the flower and the bike. What story do they evoke in you? Where does your mind go when you think of those symbols?

The guidebook has my interpretation of that card, of that symbol, but it might be very different to you.

As always, this is about you trusting yourself, trusting the information that you gained from the card.

Let me know what you think, what came to mind for you.

Thank you for joining me and I’ll see you again very soon for another episode of the Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast, where we are going to continue on the journey through the SHEro toolkit cards to help you find trust in your intuition so that you can make better choices in life, as you begin to hear the inner wisdom and understand the language of your soul, because your soul does speak to you in the language of symbols.

And that’s why it’s so important to listen. Maybe what I say sparks something in you, and you’re like, yes, that’s what it is. Or maybe you’ll be like, no, Rebecca, that’s not right. So this is what I think for me. And it’s always about you.

This is about you being able to understand the language of your soul so that you can make better choices for you and trust yourself deeply.

Once again, thank you for joining me and I will see you again very soon.
