Give Yourself Credit

Give Yourself Credit

Listen. Because listening’s important:

Hi and welcome to the Re-Enchant Your Life reminder.

Your sacred pause in the day where you’re encouraged to take a moment to stop and tune into your inner wisdom and become present, so that you can reconnect to your personal power and confidently embrace who you’re becoming, as you Re-Enchant Your life and create the change you truly desire.

Today you’re being reminded to give yourself credit.

To give yourself credit and recognise how far you’ve come.

To celebrate all you’ve achieved and overcome.

How you’ve grown, pushed your own limits, and overcome more than you thought possible.

How every challenge and obstacle, every celebration and experience, every success and learning has allowed you to know yourself more than before.

You may still have a way to go to reach your goals or bring your intentions into being, but just stop and allow yourself to recognise the progress that you’ve made.

It’s easy to be aware of and focus on what you don’t have or haven’t achieved yet.

It can be easy to compare yourself to people who appear to be further along, or closer, to what you want for yourself, but take this moment to appreciate what you’ve done too.

Think of all the challenges you’ve overcome.

The learning, knowledge and experience that you have acquired; about yourself, life and various topics.

Recognise the resilience and strength that you’ve had to develop, so that you can stand where you are today.

No part of your journey is wasted.

It has brought you to where you are today. Stronger, wiser, and more confident in yourself and your abilities.

Don’t allow yourself to downplay or dismiss all that you’ve done.

You’ve done it. You are here. You need to give yourself the recognition that you deserve for being here, right now.

In this very moment, pause, and take a breath. As you recognise all that you’ve done.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to recognise just how far you’ve come.

Think back over the last 12 months and make a list of all the things you’ve achieved and completed. The big and the small.

Consider all the things you’ve learnt.

The places you’ve been and the people you’ve met.

The books you’ve read or listened to, the podcasts or shows you’ve consumed.

Look back through your diary or journal and remind yourself of all the things you’ve done, got through and celebrated.

Pause, and take a breath. As you recognise just how far you have come.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I honour myself and all that I have done, overcome and achieved”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy recognising how far you have already travelled on Your SHEro’s Journey!

It’s all too easy to complete something and then move on to the next thing on your to do list, the next project, the next… anything really.

I’m certainly guilty of this.

Last year I published four journals and moved straight on to developing the next two, with barely a pause or a recognition at what I’d completed.

Also, at the end of last year I published my third oracle deck, and then went straight on to completing the next one.

And yet it’s essential that we take the time to integrate all that we do.

To celebrate our success and review the lessons that we can take forward.

I’m certainly a work in progress, I think we all are until our last days here, so this time I’ve promised myself that when my cards go on sale, and you can hold me accountable… I will consciously stop. I will celebrate and review, before I move on to the next thing.

Because let’s face it, there will always be a next thing, especially if you’re like me, as I’m already sketching out my next creative endeavour lol

Respond with Awareness

Respond with Awareness

Today you’re being reminded to respond with awareness.

To respond to life consciously, and not through emotional habits and learned behaviour.

Often when a situation occurs, you respond to them the way you always have.

Responding in a particular way may have been appropriate in the past, but how often do you stop to ask if the response is still appropriate today.

We can often learn our emotional responses as children, either as a way to get what we wanted or to avoid something we didn’t. Or they can be a learned behaviour as we watched how our own parents or caregivers behaved in certain situations.

These responses may not be appropriate or even healthy responses for you today.

Today you have more experience, knowledge and resources to draw upon than you did when you were a child.

So, take a moment and make sure that you respond consciously, and in a way that supports you and who you’re becoming.

In this very moment, pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to become conscious of any outdated and habitual responses.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to pay attention to how you respond, especially to emotive topics such as money and love.

Think about your beliefs and behaviours around these topics and consider if they are even yours, or have you just been repeating what you’ve learnt, or are you doing what you have always done?

Are your responses, conscious and considered, are they made from a place of awareness or are they default patterns that you unconsciously fall into?

Pause, and take a breath. As you ask yourself “Is this mine?”

Today’s Affirmation:

“I consciously choose how I respond to situations”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy responding consciously and in a way that supports you on Your SHEro’s Journey!

I think one of the most powerful questions that you can ask yourself is simply ‘is this mine?’

The question itself is powerful.

But it’s power also lies in the fact that when you find yourself about to respond, you take a moment to pause and check-in with yourself.

This moment to pause is a valuable way of bringing awareness to a situation.

The way you’re about to respond, is that how you really want to respond?

Is that what you really believe?

Is it really worth the consequences of your words and actions?

The answer could remain ‘Yes’, and that’s valuable information, because as you move forward, you do so, aligned and sure of your action.

If the answer is ‘No’, that’s valuable too, as it may well have saved you lots of hurt, drama and hard feelings.

Take a moment to check in with your beliefs, are they yours, or are they what you think you should believe?

Taking a moment to respond with awareness, allows you to make powerfully aligned decisions, and take clear and confident action.

And it only takes a moment to ask the question ‘is this mine?’

Be Real

Be Real

Today you’re being reminded to be real.

It can be more important to focus on being real than on being nice.

Nice is what women are often taught to be.

The good girls, the looking after people, the prioritising the needs of others before themselves.

They can be taught be pleasant and not make a fuss.

To be the peacekeepers, the bridge builders.

Authenticity is replaced with a façade of niceness.

Boundaries are trodden on, if they even existed at all.

It’s time to honour yourself, your feelings and your energy.

Protect your space.

Be discerning about who or what you allow in, or at least what of theirs you take on.

Be true to yourself.

Show up in the realness of who you are.

You can still be nice, but this time it will come from a place deep within, fuelled by love and connection, and not from a place of ‘should’.

You will be nice from a place of power and choice, and not a place of fear, habit or expectation.

In this very moment, pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to be real.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to acknowledge those areas where you wear the façade of ‘niceness’.

Where you put others needs before yourself, because it’s expected of you.

Where you don’t speak up about your thoughts, feelings or needs, because you’re concerned about how you will be received.

How can you be more real today, in a way that feels safe and authentic to you?

Perhaps it could be in what you do, what you wear, or who you spend your time with.

Maybe it’s spending time journaling about your truth so that you start to be real and honest with yourself first.

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to drop any façades that aren’t yours to carry.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I choose being real over being nice”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

In the meantime, enjoy being real on Your SHEro’s Journey!

I love working with Archetypes.

They hold so much information about who we are and what drives us.

They can explain to us patterns of behaviours that we appear to fall in to.

Everything about us is connected to our archetypal patterns.

They can be hugely powerful, and yet they can also hold us back.

When I teach about these Archetypal patterns, I usually start with the Innocent SHEro, and her repressed side which shows up as the ‘good girl’.

Often when we begin to explore these patterns of behaviour, and where we discover how these patterns have been amplified in us, or why we’ve taken them on, many women become annoyed and angry.

They realise that instead of being able to explore the curiosity, dreams and wonder of the Innocent SHEro, they’ve instead adopted the ‘good girl’ repressed energy of her, as a way of people pleasing and receiving love and acceptance.

Once we recognise these limiting patterns, we can begin to consciously choose the path we do want to walk.

We can free ourselves of these limits and become more of who we are, we become more real.

We can start to become aware of the façades we’ve been hiding behind and protecting ourselves with and show up in the realness of who we are.

It’s Natural to Change

It’s Natural to Change

Today you’re being reminded that it’s natural to change.

As you experience more of life and discover more about who you are, you aren’t supposed to stay the same.

As you move forward in life, your needs, dreams and desires change as you do, and that’s okay.

You learn and grow.

Your failures and successes transform you.

Your lived experiences refine what you truly desire.

The more you learn, and unlearn, about your experience of life and the experiences of those around you, the more you hone what’s really important to you.

Just because something was true for you in the past, doesn’t mean that it’s still true for you now.

Just because you invested in time, energy and money in following a certain path in your life, doesn’t mean you have to stick with it forever more.

Just because it’s expected of you, doesn’t mean you have to comply.

All of your learning and experience is valuable, you just might not use it in the way you first expected you would.

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to change.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to reflect on your life and get honest about what you want to change.

Relationships, career choices, hobbies, do they still bring you joy and light you up, or have your needs and desires changed?

Have you outgrown any area of your life?

Have any areas become stale and become more of a chore?

Decide if you need to recommit and breathe fresh life into them, or do you need to accept that you’ve changed and it’s now time to move on?

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to be honest.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I embrace my growth and the change it brings”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

I’m in my early 40’s.

When I was 18 years old, I loved to dance at clubs. I went out dancing with friends most nights of the week.

I didn’t really care what the music was, as long as I could dance.

A few clubs that I went to had two entrances.

One entrance for people who were over 25 years old, and one entrance for everyone else.

In my wise 18 years of life, I can clearly remember thinking ‘why on earth were 25-year-olds out dancing, surly they should be tucked up at home with their cocoa’.

When I got to 25 years old, I’m so glad I had changed my mind, as instead of thinking I had to be tucked up at home with my very own cocoa, I could still be out dancing!

And now it was even better, as I really appreciated that I could totally skip the queues and go straight in and start dancing, as the entrance for 25 years olds was always so much shorter haha

Allow yourself to change your mind.

Experience, and well age, changes us, and often that’s a great thing!

Be Loyal to Your Future

Be Loyal to Your Future

Today you’re being reminded to be loyal to your future.

To be loyal to your future and not let your past define you.

We all have a past filled with a wide range of experiences. Some you may be proud of, others you may now ask yourself what on earth you were ever thinking.

You may have regrets for past actions or inactions, for conversations and words said in haste, for behaviours that now make you cringe.

You did the best you could with the information you had.

Or at least you would do things differently now.

Your past has shaped you, but it doesn’t have to define you.

Focus on who you are now and who you’re becoming.

Be loyal to the future vision you have for yourself and your life.

You cannot change the choices you made in the past, but you can change those behaviours, and make different choices as you move forward.

Pause, and take a breath. As you recommit to your future.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to spend some time daydreaming about the future you want to create for yourself.

More important than the ‘things’ that you want for that future, focus on the feelings and values that you want front and centre of your life.

Who do you want to become, how do you want to contribute, what are your days filled with?

Allow these dreams and feelings to become part of your everyday life right now, today.

Allow them to expand and grow as they pull you forward, rather than being pulled back and stuck in the past.

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow your future to inspire you forwards.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I commit to my future and who I’m becoming”

I’ll see you tomorrow for your daily reminder to Re-Enchant Your Life with me, Rebecca-Anuwen,

We can often want to make the easy choice.

The decision that satisfies us right now in this moment.

We want instant gratification, and we want it when we want it, which is usually now.

But what if instead of prioritising ease and immediacy, we prioritised what really mattered to us.

What if instead of going for the quick fix, that instant feel-good that quickly passes, you took your time, made the effort and chose what supports you longer term dreams and desires.

It may not be as appealing in this very moment, but you will thank yourself for it.

Moment to moment you make choices that will influence and change your experience of life in the future.

You get to chose to be loyal to your future, to honour the woman that you’re becoming.

Choose her over everything else, you are absolutely without doubt worth it, you deserve her.

Focus on Today

Focus on Today

Today you’re being reminded to focus on today.

Often you can be so focused on the enormity of where you want to be, what you want to achieve, your 1 year, 5 year, 10 year goals, that you feel too overwhelmed to actually take action.

But you won’t master life in a day, so focus on mastering the day and then keep going one day at a time.

You wouldn’t expect to master the violin in a week, so give yourself a break, and acknowledge that as a human, you’re ever evolving and that you’re still learning and growing, and will do until the day you die.

Mistakes are inevitable.

They’re allowed.

There will always be something new to work towards, a new goal or desire that catches your attention.

Give yourself permission to not have everything together, and to not be where you want to be.

Focus on where you are and what you do well.

Acknowledge all that you do right.

Acknowledge the progress you’ve made and continue to make.

You’re not the same women you were last year.

You’re probably not the same woman you were six months ago, possibly even one month ago.

Often it can be overwhelming at the thought of all that you want to be and do, but focus on the here and now.

Focus on what you can do today.

Focus on how you can weave more of the feelings and values that are important to you, into your day, rather than thinking everything seems too far out of reach.

Pause, and take a breath. As remind yourself how far you’ve come.

Today’s SHEro Action:

Today’s SHEro action is to acknowledge how far you’ve come.

Look back over the last 12 months and notice all that you have learnt, done and achieved.

Notice how much you’ve grown as a person, what skills you’ve gained, maybe you’ve become more confident, feel more connected or trust yourself more.

Look back through your calendar to really appreciate all that you’ve done and how far you’ve come.

Pause, and take a breath. As you allow yourself to recognise your own growth.

Today’s Affirmation:

“I fully recognise and appreciate all that I do and have done”

I recently started Tai Chi, and I’m really enjoying it.

I love the fluidity of the movement and how I can feel my body opening up and expanding with each practice.

When I first started, I had this lovely idea that I would learn one new move a week.

That seemed totally doable, that was until the third week.

I got stuck on a move.

I could do the first several moves fine, the flow, rhythm and breathing felt great. But adding the next move just got me stuck.

It felt like I was trying to rub my stomach and pat my head, and I’m not sure I ever mastered that!

So instead of being annoyed with myself, I broke the step down into even smaller steps.

I took the pressure off from my original goal, and just accepted where I was in my practice.

Reminding myself that I was brand new to this.

Reminding myself that what was really important to me was the practice and getting each move right, not just being able to stumble my way through the sequence without care and attention.

So, I continued to turn up to practice and focus on what I was doing in that class that day, I kept practicing and kept showing up.

I still feel that way now, celebrating moving forward no matter how slowly.
